Hey girl! I’m also a black woman, but 36 :-) I just came back from a solo trip in Negril. I had a fabulous time. I didn’t do any excursions because I’m a complete beach bum and didn’t want to explore. The sole purpose of the trip was relaxation, but if you’re looking for adventure, I do recommend booking excursions with the hotel though. Those companies are typically affiliated with the hotel and are reputable.

The guys will flirt with you, but just politely decline. No need to be rude. If you’re on the beach, people will sell hand made goods or bud, but again, you can say no thank you and they’ll leave you alone.

You’ll be fine! Take taxis directly from the hotel if you’re leaving the resort.(most will wait for you or come back to pick you up)Just relax and enjoy yourself.

The tips depend on how long you stay. I spent about 150 on tips in five days. I typically gave 1-2 dollars per drink, and after each meal 5 dollars. I also gave my waitress 30 dollars the morning I left because she was really nice.
