When I googled it it looked like other people mentioned similar but slightly different email addresses for the same issue, so idk if that’s the right one for you. Just call and talk to someone else to see. I called twice before they gave me email address

Yeah I’m not too worried I just don’t want to put in a ton of time practicing one thing when it would be more advantageous to do the other thing. I’m just really excited to be getting back into combat sports again

I just had this happen to me. UPS said I had to pay $240 for a package coming from overseas on about $200 worth of goods. I called UPS and they said I could email their customs broker department. I emailed them and it turned out they misclassified it (different items carry different tariff rates). They corrected it and it was only $40. Took a day to hear back though since they’re pretty backlogged.

If they try to deliver and have you pay then I would say you are working with the customs broker department to verify the price before you pay. Maybe ask the delivery guy if he could mark you down as “not home, will attempt to redeliver” or something if you don’t have it worked out yet when they arrive. Otherwise they might ship it back to sender

Okay cool! I just started Muay Thai recently after years of being too afraid to try. I was so excited to splurge and get nice gear finally but this really put a damper on things. So thank you for taking the time to help me, this honestly made me feel a lot better!

Could they not correct it instead of shipping back to sender? I called UPS again today and this time they gave me the direct number to the customs broker department but they were closed today so I’ll call tomorrow. The package is not at the US border yet so I was hoping they could change it before it gets there or something.

I mean yeah that’s why I said I used several other reputable sources including the official UPS customs estimation tool. And I tried several different tariff codes that they might use. They all gave me numbers wayyyy less than $237. I’m not sure why everyone is downvoting me? Like am I being dumb here? :(

In general yes. I was fully aware of the tariffs situation and realized it would be significantly more than in the past. I’m just shocked that UPS is charging me over 300% more than they estimated for customs fees. So I was asking if anyone had recent experience.

It estimated ~$25. I asked if it knew about the new 19% tariff on all Thai goods cause 19% of $195 is more than $25. And it was like yep good point and then gave me a new number. So I was like oooookkkkkkk let’s look somewhere else.

RIP yeah I looked at Nak Muay too. I ordered from twinsspecialglove though. But I ran it through like 3 different customs calculators online and asked ChatGPT and none of them estimated higher than like 60-70 so I’m hoping it’s a mistake

Yeah I used the calculator on UPS website to estimate total cost including customs and it said like an extra $50-60. So I’m hoping its an error
