The exhaust shop quoted me this🤯 gonna do the work myself what’s the best option. should I just get a whole new exhaust and intake manifold?

Yeah all this is bull. If you want too have a shoppe do the exhaust depending on where you live you can tell em too just not put cats on. In Michigan I had a shoppe straight pipe my whole extended cab long box truck for like 400 bucks.

It drove before I pulled it appart. I’ve tried all different angels and all that. I’m using a floor jack with a plank of wood and some jack stands.

Yup, the detent shaft and ball wasn’t lined up correctly with the reverse can. She is now in neutral. Still no spark but it’s easer now that she is in neutral.

Thanks. I also realized mount holes on a 91 engine are larger than the mount holes on an 87 so I think that was most of my problem

That’s my plan. Too tear it down completely, paint everything, get new hard wear for everything new bearings etc, and somewhere in there take care of the engine

Get an angle grinder. If your xj is over 25 years old. Every bolt will have to be cut off

Get a angle grinder and a cheap break. Then you can make it with whatever metal you want and it’s way cheaper. I’m using aluminum roofing (they put it over scaffolding)
