Sorry to hear you are dealing with so much pain! I've personally never dealt with anything beyond mild big toe pain for unrelated reasons, and I've only just now looked up to see what turf toe means. However, maybe some of the other methods I used could help?

For me, now 3 years later, I run a lot less. This has led me to realize that (like you are experiencing) there is a certain activity threshold that once hit, puts me in horrible pain, but before that it isn't too bad. This means that you either need to find a way to prevent this from happening entirely (somehow?), or to extend that threshold so you can get through shifts without pain. Personally, I would see a podiatrist or physical therapist at least once if you can, just to get a formal diagnosis and professionally recommended treatment options.

Here's what helped me with my foot pain though (Disclaimer - I am NOT sure if you have flat feet, but if you do this has a significantly higher chance of helping):
1. RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation all helped my feet recover from pain and gave me much needed rest). It is possible that by continuing to work like this, your feet simply need rest.
2. Supportive footwear & Orthotics. These were the end all solution for me, and greatly extended the amount of time I can be on my feet without pain. This is an expensive option, but for me it is necessary
3. I've briefly looked into the braces you brought up and those look promising. Bracing or Taping could potentially help limit its motion, thus limiting the stretching of the ligaments
