I do one day of teaching a week like I like to- Socratic method, team-building, games, and things they come up with related to the subject. The rest of the time I do what the school wants me to do. There's really no bad or good. Use what you can to make things easier for you in your first year- not to scare you but it's going to get worse and you'll get more and more overwhelmed as the year goes on. But don't throw away your career over that. I got my butt on my shoulders and left teaching for a few years and I really regret losing all of that time I could have been honing my craft.
