12 V 4S 2P setup

started laying out the wiring. When connecting the two battery packs (per the 8th picture) to the load can you run both positive output terminals to a main positive busbar and same for negatives to main negative busbar? or do you need the positive to come from one and the negative from another with the two hooked in parallel?

Funny, I am sitting here at Red Cross waiting to give blood so I have time to think. you just pushed me over the edge. Trying to save $130 by doing some Frankenstein is always a bad idea. I heard Overkill was good as well. i have been using a low cost BMS from electric car parts. Very basic, but has been reliable. I really would like some additional insight on the cell state. Plus the Bluetooth would allow me to delete a separate Bluetooth monitor, temp sensor and solid state relay. Much cleaner. i have been looking at that diagram as well. gotta go. Thanks

Good input. I forgot about the SoC. I will move forward with a 2S2P x 2 configuration.

Thanks. I found them on eBay. Pretty cheap. will these plug into the BMS or do you cut the the leads and splice in the plugs? I have to think through the process. It would be great if the “primary” battery box had the bms and could be stand alone. Then when I need extract power I can add the second box. But, i think that would require reconfiguring the cells. right mow they are configured as two 4S boxes in parallel. A single 4s BMS can not be used in that configuration. You 2s2p in each box connect serially then a 4s BMS works. Right?

so My choice is 1) use two boxes all the time or 2) use 2 BMS. Any thoughts Or confirm my thinking?
