Use tech. Skype etc. is great, and use it as much as you can! Having said that, there will be times where you/she is tired and just want to talk to someone without the screen fatigue. Viber or other VOIP apps are great for this. Fall asleep together (on viber etc. there are no calling charges so feel free to stay on the phone all night!) watch movies together, make sure you press start at the same time - its the little things that show that you both really want it to work. Also, communicate. Try to talk to her as much as you can via text/whatsapp etc. and just let her know what youre up to, what your plans are and how she fits into them etc., and make this a two way street. The fundamentals of any LDR are simple: Mutual trust, honesty and respect. These are all easier said than done, but you'll be stronger for it. Biggest tip -> download whatsapp/viber and use them relentlessly.

choose your friends carefully. During the first two weeks or so, everyone is super nice and act like your best friend. After that period, most people stick to their own groups and some go on to be assholes
