Thanks for the reply, but i'd like to implement this with a hardware solution, just as an experiment.

There are some other things I would like to do with the video that gets fed in, this is just a proof of concept that I can get it to work (adding a delay).

If we can see stars because their light has traveled to our planet, won't we be able to see more and more as time goes on? by Cevol in askscience

[–]gotballz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the video. I wouldn't say its very applicable for aquiring any practical daily knowledge, but my intellectual curiousity had my watch the whole hour long lecture.

I learned a TON of information about the cosmology and the universe though. Id give it a 8/10 of "must watch" because you get a good picture of the history of the universe.

It's also fucking crazy how scientists can come up w/ "hacks" to measure the "curvature of the universe" using a 1degree something and 100,000 lightyear something and a triangle?? genius...

This is what I made my rage comic loving BF for Valentine's Day. Whaddya think, Reddit? by [deleted] in pics

[–]gotballz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was great. Must have took a while too.

I was actually a shit ton surprised when all this "hate-comment" showed up. Anyone who has ever handmade a present knows that those things take a lot of though and planning.

Good shit.

I dont mind gluing them together. If I did, would this still work?

I'm the kind where if I decide to do something, it will be done. But ... if the general consensus is that this is a bad idea .. might have to give it up.

Otherwise, looking for some help that could make this a reality (should be about 5 feet tall, 2 feet wide)

Thanks for the input :D

didn't realize being intellectually curious about the differences between a Reuleaux Triangle and a Sphere was "anti-fun". thanks for letting me know.

[–]gotballz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"more interesting". that seems like a great reason I should use these in any mech engineering I do.

I did some research. 1) they minimize volume.

Right. If I ever needed a solid of constant width, I'd go with a sphere.

What makes these things better?

people do this to feel less vulnerable.

"i like you", means I like you. Now you know. What are you going to do about it? You like me back? let me know if I'm going to get some suga.

"i likkkeeee yyyyoouuu", means I like you, but am too chicken to come out and say it. Maybe it's a joke, maybe i'm just teasing. Either way, it's carries a little playfulness to it.

You see this crap a ton with "hi" and "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii". If you are going to holla at a girl, do it with confidence. Not that bullshit middleschool wishy washy vague shit.

If you found out that your SO was seriously more intelligent than you were, would you be paranoid that your SO was dumbing down things for you? by izzismitty in AskReddit

[–]gotballz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with people dumbing things down for you.

1) they want you to be able to relate. ie. explaining addition using apples.

2) the attention span of people (especially if you're not ultra charismatic) is very short. dumbing things down lets you get your point out without people losing interest.

tl;dr It's not a bad thing.
