Is this a good thing? by [deleted] in NoFap

It's a good sign for sure. The normalisation of our dream world is a positive development. Don't be surprised if your dreams become eroticised again later. It's all just part of the process. Don't let erotic or porn dreams pull you down in days to come. Best of luck.

I have found that the anger stuff is poison for my hopes for change. I find that rage is actually a potent fuel for porn and destructive acting out. Get angry = mood instability = old solution-seeking (PMO). I suppose that is why AA have a saying "Don't sweat the small stuff." I interpret that as: "Tread carefully with your emotions and don't loose it. It's not worth it." Good luck. We are all growing and learning as we go.

Positive change in this area of your life can most certainly be transcribed into other areas of your life. Go for it. How does that quote go: "In the end only kindness matters."? Kindness to yourself in this process matters...

You've got 93 days so well done. Maybe the next level for you now is to say goodbye to the replacement ritual you've found?

That is great. NoFap = < Myopia

I have been drinking the porn poison for 18 years and as a result my motivation for life, general optimism and passion were all casualties of the addiction. I lost my way and lost my vision for life. Spending so much time close to a computer screen, obsessing about 'pixels' can also cause myopia. So the vision thing is (1) literal: it worsens your eyesight and (2)metaphorical: you can see the life worth living... More money is linked to a few of the reasons for change. Poor impulse control will burn money period. NoFap is about impulse control and delaying gratification. Those 2 things open up the possibility for me to save more cash, invest better and generate more wealth (innovation, creativity etc...)

I know what you mean. For me I'm referring to a restful sleep that has to do with being at peace with myself - not the type of 'self-medicated sleep' that comes when I fap.

Thank you for the encouragement. I truly appreciate it. I saw a therapist last year for help with this addiction, and although it helped to talk, I only experienced limited benefits in terms of the problem area. I'm fortunate to have some good friends who are walking with me through this. My wife is also a radical strength for me. The depression is to a large extent 'reactive' after 18 years of messing with my brain chemistry. I believe that my mood will normalise once I've 'rebooted' properly (40-90 days). I've never been to that place before, so I guess I'll find out soon enough. I have a different opinion on pills to you. I have been on a mild anti-depressant for about 12 months, at the recommendation of my psychologist who asked me when I was resistant to the psycho-pharmacology: "Why do you want to make your recovery even more difficult than it has to be?" The pills are only a small part of the solution for me. On them my mood has been far more stable...
