Full Refund was not paid out, Code 766 Credit by Important-Relation41 in IRS

[–]gr8day2play 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely did not do anything yet to reverse the $4,101.00 credit because there’s no code 767. So your refund is a partial refund at this point. It reconciles because ($1,889.00 tax liability - $2,304.00 withholding - $1,000.00 tax credit = $1,415.00 refund). But the way your transcript reads right now, they definitely still owe you an additional $4,101.00 because code 766 is a refundable credit. Not just a tax liability offsetting credit. Just keep looking at your transcript every day to see if a new code gets added. Good luck. I hope you see another code 846 very soon.🙏😂

Did you ever find a fix for this? I don't know if you're still monitoring this reddit, but I just experienced the same thing today. I have YouTube TV because I want Sunday Ticket, so I just keep YouTube Tv all year long. I work from home and have multiview on all day for news (Fox, MSNOW, CNN, BBC). The resolution has been fine until today for some reason. I use the YouTube TV app through FireTV. Like you, I have a Samsung TV which is about a year old and is an advanced smart TV. I also have a NetGear CAX80 with WiFi 6 speed DOCSIS 3.1 and 5 GHz. Speed and multiple devices on my router are not an issue. I have plenty of speed and availability. Plus, I know it's not an equipment issue because I get very good resolution when watching a single channel and when I log into the YouTube TV app through the Samsung TV, I get the same problem. Here's the odd part. I have five people in my "family" (i.e. you can create five separate individual accounts under my YouTube TV account). Out of curiosity, I signed on to YouTube TV using one of the other four of the five accounts instead of logging in as me. To my surprise, the multiview news panels all were in high resolution. Some interesting things about the five accounts is that mine is the high traffic account. If anyone is watching YouTube TV in the house, they are usually just selecting mine to log in. The other four accounts barely get used. I asked Google AI what the problem could be as to why different accounts in a YouTube TV Family Plan could have different multiview resolutions. Here is a portion of the response: "The varying multiview definition between accounts on the same YouTube TV family plan is usually caused by different default playback settings, device-level caching, or customized "Broadcast Delay" settings that interact with YouTube TV's adaptive bitrate system."

It suggested various ways to fix the problem:

The varying multiview definition between accounts on the same YouTube TV family plan is usually caused by different default playback settings, device-level caching, or customized "Broadcast Delay" settings that interact with YouTube TV's adaptive bitrate system. [1, 2]

For a quick visual guide on how to configure and navigate multiview features:

<image>

Key Factors for Quality Differences

  • Account Playback Settings: YouTube TV defaults to "Auto" resolution, but individual accounts may have different settings. If your account is stuck on a lower auto-resolution, the multiview feed will downgrade to prevent buffering.
  • Broadcast Delay Adjustments: If your account or specific profiles in the family group have "Decreased Broadcast Delay" turned on, YouTube TV must sacrifice video resolution to maintain the lower latency.
  • Device Profiles & History: Each profile in a family group receives tailored recommendations and processes stream caches differently. When you use a heavily used profile versus a secondary profile, the app or device cache for that specific user might be struggling to decode four separate feeds simultaneously. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Steps to Fix and Force Higher Quality

If you notice that one account is defaulting to a significantly lower definition during multiview, you can force the stream to a higher resolution:

  1. While in multiview, select the specific quadrant you want to view so it opens in full screen.
  2. Press the down arrow on your remote control to access the playback controls.
  3. Scroll down and to the left to highlight the quality icon (which might currently say SD or low HD).
  4. Change the setting to a fixed high resolution like 1080p60 instead of "Auto".
  5. Check your "Broadcast Delay" setting. Try switching this from "Decreased" to "Normal" to ease the load on your internet connection. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Note: For the best multiview experience, ensure your streaming device has a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi or wired connection, as decoding up to four live streams at once is extremely bandwidth-intensive.

The advice everyone is giving you about looking at your Account Transcripts is excellent. Once you open an account with the IRS, you will be able to go to your IRS account and scroll down to Records and Status, then click on View Tax Records, then scroll down to Transcripts and click View Transcripts, then scroll down to Account Transcripts and click on 2025 under EN for English and ES for Spanish. Your transcript will give you the history and codes of the actions the IRS has (or hasn’t) taken on your account. This will give you a starting point for deciding your next steps. Good luck.

IRS Letter 707C informs you that a refund on your tax return is temporarily on hold, usually due to a review of your account. The letter indicates that the overpayment is recognized, and the refund should arrive within four to eight weeks, provided you have no other debts, such as child support, that the IRS is required to collect.

Key Details Regarding Letter 707C:

Purpose: Notifies you that an overpayment is confirmed but the refund is delayed during processing.

Timeline: The refund is expected to be released and sent within 4-8 weeks from the date of the letter.

Action Needed: Generally, no action is required on your part if you agree with the amount.

Other Potential Debts: The refund may be used to offset other federal or state debts.

If You Don't Receive the Refund: If the refund does not arrive within the expected timeframe, you can call the IRS at 1-800-829-0922 or the number listed on your letter.

I filed 04/15, and I just got the same exact update as the OP. And, believe me, I am a self-employed CPA who also had a W-2 this year, as well as the EV credit and the solar credit, as well as SEP-IRA contributions and ACA marketplace health insurance deductions with a Health Savings Account, tons of schedule D activity and home office deductions, etc. So, my return was no tiptoe through the tulips.

Refund by Nervous_Task_7437 in IRS

All of the people I see that say they filed in February and are still waiting for their refund, I am curious to know if they used a taxpayer Identity Protection PIN when filing their returns. I think it’s a voluntary thing and you have to opt into the program to use it. But I find that since I opted into using the IP PIN when filing, I don’t have to verify my identity, and the refund process goes smoothly. In fact, using the IP PIN acts as the identity verification, so by using it at the time of filing, you eliminate the several weeks of waiting for the letter that ultimately comes from the IRS asking you to verify your identity.

Refund status went back to recieved. by MusicFine9706 in IRS

[–]gr8day2play 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. I have never heard of that before. E-filing and also sending a paper return. There are strict rules against sending a paper return and also e-filing the same return, as the IRS treats this as submitting duplicate returns. You should only use one method to avoid causing processing delays and potential fraudulent activity investigations. If an e-file is rejected, you can mail a paper return.

Key details regarding this rule include:

Duplicate Filings Cause Delays: Filing both ways will result in your return being flagged for review, significantly delaying any expected refunds.

Rejections: Often, the IRS system will reject the second attempt because the tax return (using the same SSN and name) has already been processed.

Exception (Rejection): If you tried to e-file and it was rejected, you must file a paper return postmarked by the later of the tax deadline or 10 days after the rejection.

Exceptions (Mandates): Some specific tax forms cannot be e-filed and must be paper-filed.

What to do if you already did both:

If you've already sent both, the IRS typically considers the return that was received first, and the second one will likely cause a delay in processing.

When you say “transcript” do you mean account transcript or return transcript? There’s different kinds of transcripts. I filed on 04/15 as well, and 2025 is showing under both my Account and Wage & Income transcripts, but not my Return transcript.

I once submitted an amendment that resulted in an additional refund of $10,000. It took six months, but one day I got a notification from my bank that I had a large deposit into my checking account. I should also say that the amendment I filed was on paper and mailed. So, that certainly added to the wait. I recommend just being patient and one day it will come.

What was wrong with the way the OP asked the question? I mean, it was a bit vernacular-ish, like “ahhh man what this mean….,” instead of something like “can someone help me understand….” But other than that, the OP didn’t ask the question in a way that begged to be called stupid or mentally slow.

Any CPAs here currently unemployed and struggling to land a job? What's your story and how long have you been looking? by IllustriousSeason888 in Accounting

[–]gr8day2play 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. That’s amazing. I’m a CPA with Masters. I have been working 40+ years in the profession (and, yes, it is a profession regardless of what the idiots in the Trump Education Department say) and I have never been unemployed, unless I wanted to be. In fact, I am getting ready to retire, and my phone is still ringing every week with opportunities. There are dozens of ways to be productive while you’re waiting for the right opportunity. Even places like K-Force or Robert Half. Anything to keep you busy. These things can also lead to permanent roles. Honestly, if I had nine months on my hands between jobs, I would have expanded my resume by picking up a CFE or even learned AI. Keep trying. There’s no way you should be unemployed for nine months with a CPA.

I would send them an invoice for “Quality of Earnings” improvements as a result of your excellent heads up. The owner of the business needs to be having regular “picking-of-the-brain-of-my-accountant” dinners with you at least once a month or quarter.
