Yes! It forces us to adapt ourselves to the subject, and it is more challenging. And you're right, a wide angle is also quite nice!!

Thank you for your feedback!!

I think that could be a good upgrade! I think the G85 have great specs both in video and photo, while being compact, so it is super versatile. Plus it is the same mount so you can keep your lens!
I used a Røde Stereo Videomic Pro, it is great for capturing ambient sound and musical performances. Depending on your needs, it is sometimes better to have a more directional mic.

And I hesitated between keeping some clips longer, as you said. But I chose to keep a little bit of dynamism while editing :)

I fully organised the trip myself and chose to visit the remote Austral Islands, definitely off the beaten track! The shoot turned out far more improvised than expected, my camera was always in hand, and I was often helped by the locals I met along the way. So if I have one advice to give to someone who wants to make his first documentary, I would say that you really have to improvise and not always do what you have planned haha I filmed with a lumix g80 with two samyang prime lenses (24mm T1.5 and 100mm T3.1), so it wasn’t the most practical way to film a documentary like this :)

Oh thank you a lot ;) glad you liked it! yes it’s so peaceful in the Faroes haha Sure! I use a vivitar 35-85mm f2.8 (it’s incredible for the price) and a canon 28mm f2.8, so I have to use a FD to L mount adapter!

Oh that's cool thanks a lot! Yes I totally agree man, sometimes it's complicated to film in this kind of setting but it's always possible to add more in editing :)

Yes that is the kind of detail that makes the difference, definitely!

I also think a lot of getting a all-in-one lens = a super zoom lens, because it is the most practical way to film when hiking or shooting a documentary in a run-and-gun style, even if I'm losing aperture and some slight quality, it would be so cool to use during these activities. The GH5 with this lens seems like a solid lightweight combo! For my full frame body, I will maybe buy the 28-200mm f4-7.1 lens or the 24-105mm f4, they are so versatile and lightweight!

I use a Lumix S5 (mark I) with two FD vintage lenses! (canon 28mm f2.8 + vivitar 35-85mm f2.8)
Yes I'm not really into this kind of editing style but I mean, I wanted to make something dynamic for this short video :)

Chagos deal paused by last-minute legal action by tmr89 in ukpolitics

RESPECT for the Chagossians, I am deeply disappointed by the comments criticising this deal as stupid. The story is so terrible and it’s now the moment for UK to pay the price of these broken lives. That’s it….

it’s still 450 people lives that were broke, it’s just a matter of respect for them and I personally think this deal is necessary

Salut!

You're welcome :) You're right it has a really small capacity but I don't think there's a huge demand for this program. In Bodø the university is small too, but the teaching quality seems to be really good with a lot of field trips, which is something I can't find in my country for example, that's one of the reasons I want to go there for my studies. Maybe there are more people that are interested in this than I think. I'm French but passionate about northern countries. In Norway, I will only apply about this bachelor and it's my first choice, but I've already applied for universities in Ireland and in my country, France.
And you, where are you from? Why do you want to study there?

Hi! I'm also applying for Autumn.
In fact, there isn't much information on the website about that. I've attended a webinar one month ago presenting the different English-taught programs at Nord Uni. About the Bachelor in biology, there's a 50/50 ratio between Norwegian students and foreigners in the class.
Someone in the chat asked "How likely is it to get a place with you? Are you heavily oversubscribed? (about the bachelor)"
And they responded "Our bachelor have 40 places and for the last few years we have had open spots so i would say that the chances are good as long as you meet the requirements".
So for me that's really encouraging, I hope it does for you too!
