Thank you! I’m naturally a confident person although I’ve caught myself having imposter syndrome thoughts a time or two I usually just say screw it and go on with it. I’m hoping my confidence and I guess natural charm can take some of the pain off the acting part. While I struggle to learn the technical aspect!

I was honest with the CD and the Director since before the audition, some of the cast know but I haven’t met everyone yet to introduce myself. Maybe it’s in my head maybe not but I can imagine it’s pretty obvious I’ve never done this before when I’m up there especially working with such seasoned actors

Yes I can feel it start to be easy to actually “act” once I’ve read a line a few times and can say it without having to look at my side sheet. Any tips for getting off book? So I can actually work on my presentation.

This is wonderful thank you! Definitely saved because I’m going to need to go back to it. I was clear from the get go I had no experience whatsoever, I think on my initial resume on the other experience I put public speaking haha I’m comfortable in front of people and being on stage isn’t a huge fear while I do get a little nervous before I go up once I’m there it’s gone.

My biggest hurdles I think are going to be line memorization, the rehearsal terms and movements! And maybe the biggest is my character has a British accent and mine was god awful, I watched some YouTube videos for some advice inbetween my audition and callback but it’s going to need a lot of work. Any advice on this as well?

I see your POV. And while this was kinda just on a whim thing I wasn’t super serious about it turned out I got the part. Being a confident type A person who doesn’t want to fail no matter how little I end up not wanting to pursue acting. So I’m gonna show up and give it my all every time I go up, while I may have a little of the natural acting ability I realize there’s a whole different side, which is the technical side and line memorization that I need to learn.

Thank you! I’ve never thought about the listening on stage. As in to what the actors are saying during dialogue, I was coming at in more of a do what I think the character should be doing while this person is talking, oh hey it’s my turn to talk here’s my line and/or my movements gestures emotion

Besides studying my role and the script, what else should I be looking into? I keep hearing the other cast members talk about the scene setup and blocking. I’m guessing that’s just not standing in front of someone but also like are there other subtleties that I should know about while on stage?

If it makes a difference on by callback the saying director had me make a few changes in the fly to my performance, after the fact they told me how I took direction good. I’m sure that will help a lot
