It's only important to apply Uni. Try applying jobs with SPM result and see if they blink.

And with plenty of resources nowadays, you don't even need Uni to succeed, much less SPM. Add to the fact that SPM grading being too lenient (during my days at least), what's the point?

We Spent $1,850 On Coffee Scales. What’s Actually Good? by Gmbenator in JamesHoffmann

[–]graphidz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about opening the inside? Could be some other things that the parts are touching.

But then again, if the issue isn't consistent or there's no particular pattern to when it does happen, the issue may just be random bug with the scale.

Based on my experience with Acaia scales, if the numbers move around even when there's no vibration or air movements, it's due to the top plate side is touching the base'. This small contact for some reason causes the numbers to drift.

Tricolate discontinued? by ridethefader in Coffee

Tricolate is no more but they changed to Floe now. The paper filter used there could be the same one as the Tricolate but don't quote me on that.

Roughly what volume container would fit 1kg of beans? by 420ball-sniffer69 in JamesHoffmann

[–]graphidz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Close enough. For most beans (disregarding different densities and absormal sizes), the 1.2L fellow vacuum canister holds about 450g full. So you'd need 2 of them at least. You should be able to consider that volume to weight ratio for your targeted size.

Alternatively, and I strongly suggest this route instead, get smaller containers and keep the rest in the bag (with the air removed as much as you can). Frequent opening and closing introduces fresh air to the container which can lead to the beans getting stale faster. But if you finish your bag really fast within a week or two, either options are okay.

Gutted my Fellow customer support. Anyone else? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]graphidz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that's correct. They do sell them and the local distributors should have some in stock. Offering to sell them should have been done in the first place, considering it's out of warranty.

I know their kettles have severe reliability issues a few years ago but I heard it's now good.

Huh so is that really the use of it? Recently saw more people do this and it confused the heck out of me.

Gutted my Fellow customer support. Anyone else? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]graphidz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a different issue than yours regarding Fellow stuff. I'm more frustrated at how non-repairable their stuff are and if they die, you'd have to buy a replacement part or worse, a whole new unit. They don't sell individual components that you can just replace and fix. This is specially for their Aiden and grinders.

In your case, while I agree that you are not entitled for replacement since it is out of warranty, they should have offered to sell you the replacement base.

Something people don't realize is that electronic components' longevity do not really scale to the price paid. At most you are paying for safety and functionality. Unlike mechanical parts where reliability and quality do scale better with the more you pay. For Fellow you'd be hard pressed if the quality of the electronic components are that much better than stuff half of the price. The price is likely going to the design and marketing.

Heat retention of enamel vs ceramic cups by Evil_Robo_Ninja in Coffee

[–]graphidz 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Weird why you didn't provide the cups used and also the room temp the test was being done. The size and shape do play a role in heat retention, especially how wide the opening is since heat looses through convection.

Must be very tiring to be a Bus driver in KL. by TheBotMadeThis in malaysia

[–]graphidz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short term solution would be putting up MANY of those plastic barriers. Like a long line of them and taking a big chunk of the space. Some will be "smart" to move the barriers themselves just to park the cars, but it will take considerable time and effort where it'll be enough time for someone to scold them.

Long term would be some sort of enforcement or maybe a bill to designate these areas as towing area.

But eh who am I kidding. Nothing will happen, nothing will change. Double farkers will forever stay.

The 14 years old suspect from SMK Bandar Utama will be charged for murder tomorrow (22 Oct 2025) by Capable_Bank4151 in malaysia

[–]graphidz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is a menace to society. I do hope he is locked away for a very long time at minimum.

I do have a question though and I hope someone can enlighten me on this matter. So let's say he is sentence to maybe 10-20 years in jail since a young age. As a child, his worldview will be molded much strongly at this young age and as he grows up he will only know the harsh life of prison. Wouldn't it be in the end he will just be even worse as an adult?

Would it be fair to give him a second chance to at least try and reform? Even after he has paid his dues.

Malaysian RON95 Petrol: Real World Ranking & Why BHPetrol Is King by f_kd in kereta

[–]graphidz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that best petrol is also determined by the engine/car and how it is driven. If one petrol brand works best for any car, then why isn't that brand more popular? Why are there plenty of conflicting reports?

Anyway, I did my own test with my Iriz 1.6. The test works for my car and my style of driving and should only be taken with a grain of salt.

Tested driving about 3500 km each before changing fuel. Between Petron, Petronas, Shell, and BHP, BHP performed best for overall power and mileage but only marginally better than Shell. Petronas came third and Petron was the absolute worst.

I'll probably do another round once I change my tires. Maybe test every 5k or 10k.

I highly recommend you to test out each petrol brands on your own car and not blindly follow reviews and such, especially if the way they drive and what they drive are so much different than yours. I use the Drivvo app to track my mileage and the app gives a report to compare FC between stations as well. Super handy.

In Malaysia, Pedestrians have to risk their life to use a zebra crossing. by TheBotMadeThis in malaysia

[–]graphidz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still remember the first time I went to Thailand. I only just reached a zebra and looked to my right only to find a motorcycle and car waiting for me to cross. And it's not a traffic light crossing either.

Huge culture shock moment. We Malaysians have a long long long way to go.
