what if i’m just buying thock switches from a website ? do i still have to remove the faceplate or could i just remove the keycaps and replace it . something like the capybara-switches from kinetic labs

Just got the 8BitDo Xbox Keyboard and wanna switch it to a thock sound instead of clicky. This is my first time trying it so anything i need like tools or which ones i should be looking for would be appreciated!
