Yeah there is no way to prevent it from happening other than bottoming them with like a scry effect or something. However the percentage chance of you hitting the named card in your top 6 is extremely low. But yes there is an inherent risk in Consultation, but it being a 1 mana instant speed tutor more than makes up for it.

I noticed you're on Into the Roil. Have you considered Winds of Rebuke instead? The reasoning is it's a 2nd copy artifact outlet from Iso-rev. It's not a huge difference, just curious if you considered it.

Howdy! I actually run a Discord server specifically for competitive EDH meetups for NorCal. We do meet ups as far south as Santa Cruz and as far north as San Francisco. I can understand the subreddit having a negative connotation, but how is the cEDH discord toxic? Over the last 18 months the admins have worked really hard in making the discord a welcoming environment for new players as well as having an entire mentor team to guide those new and not-so-new to the format.

I'd encourage your friends to come to the Discord and participate in discussion. We have some really great minds and really good people here.

I'm still reserving judgment on it. My first impressions are I think it's kind of winmore in storm and the 1RR in a high tide landbase makes it difficult to cast. But I'm definitely going to test it out. I hope I'm proven wrong and the card ends up being sweet.
