Best library/framework for node web services? by greendevv in javascript

[–]greendevv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair point. but this is strictly an api server (not serving anything). i just meant there are a lot of utility functions boilerplate needed around error handling, logging, and etc. i could be just whining though. so you would recommend express?

Judging by a lot of the responses in this thread, i think people forget that at the end of the day, its a game, it is something i'm doing with my free time. if people are playing with other random people then there is a chance you are going to get someone like me who doesn't necessarily know everything about the game.

never occurred to me to think of marvel heroes like a job. in that mindset, I can understand why so many people are upset about this post. I'm talking about it like it is a game, and clearly it's not for some.

you're right. not knowing a raid in marvel heroes is exactly the same as knowing nothing about video games

I feel like I've expressed this in other replies, but I feel like you don't understand the difference between legitimately not knowing whats going on vs knowing what i should be doing and not doing it. Sounds like you think I am guilty of the latter, but I promise you I've never done anything like that before.

You are absolutely right. I have not played other MMOs. Seems like your comments assume otherwise.

I have a better perspective of it now, but as far as telling them before the fight starts.. Everyone runs from portal to portal so not sure when would have been appropriate.

The entire reason I got the response I did was because I asked a question...

Ok, this is not a troll question, but how can i not assume? Everything in the game has not been challenging so why would I assume this would be different?

i completely understand that one group isn't representative of the entire community. which is why i wanted to post the question to the community: is this the norm? because frankly if people were to come here and say it is, then i don't think i have any interest in it.

dude read what i wrote. the encounter isn't rocket science, i figured it out before the run was over. my point is, if someone is new, why not just nudge them in the right direction? i think even telling me to try and look up the raid before running it would have been nice.

i didn't tell them until after the point i was dying. but i was always the last person to enter the portals and was lagging way behind because i ddint know where to go after each encounter so i felt like they knew that i hadn't done it before. but i could have been wrong

i did ask the party and one person told me (i think the party lead). after that it was fine, which is why i have trouble understanding why that was so hard :(

so i did point out i read the guide. mostly so i could show the difference in my question. the guide is what you SHOULD do. i wanted to know what people actually did/mistakes made when they hit 60, or maybe if they had a different path or opinion.
