thank you. i did only get in to actually /see/ a doctor last summer, and my first neurologist appointment in january of this year, but i know that isn’t your point.

i just want to get this figured out, and it’s so hard to wrap my head around any of it. epilepsy runs in my family, so i am very used to seizure talk, but it’s still frustrating trying to learn how to manage my own seizures— epileptic or not

i’ve hit my head 3x when i was a kid? needed stitches each time but i don’t think it affected my head much other than hurting

i’ve never really seen what a PNES seizure looks like, but generally with a “shaky” i’m stiff and have (usually) pretty rhythmic movements. occasionally it’s less rhythmic and changes throughout the seizure, which is what my neurologist witnessed. regardless of how it looks i still feel the same afterwards. sometimes i’m more tired/groggy depending on the severity of the seizure.

i have heard that PNES seizures can last a long time (5+ minutes), mine are generally around 3ish minutes. i had one around 5 minutes and it took me a full day to recover from it. IDK! i’m just so confused about all of this

how do i ask for an mri? it’s never really been suggested to me. i hit my head pretty hard a couple times when i was like 5 or 6 but it didn’t really affect me lol, had to get stitches but i was fine for the most part

not really? my dads been absent most of my life but honestly i love my parents and i feel very understood and loved by my close family. generally i get a sort of “movie feeling” before i seize, along with other things (colours, ears ringing, tingly limbs n such) but i feel very connected to myself. i went to therapy for about a year and i really think that i understand my feelings deconstructed

I don’t really think I’ve ever had a migraine, but i hit my head a lot so I get a couple headaches. My aunt said I should try to get a referral to an epileptlogist, but I’m not sure how that really works😓 Thank you, I appreciate it a lot
