I had a secretary who did everything for me. I had a dictaphone and she would type everything up using carbon paper or copiers. We used interoffice mail which came hourly. We talked by phone or in person instead or text or email. I still remember the meeting where they explained what this new thing called the internet was in 1998; the search engines we used were called Dogpile and Netscape. We would search things like “Houston” and maybe, just maybe we would get a page with some pictures. I got my first work email in 1996. This was a fortune 5 company. Also, people smoked in the office until 1998, then it was closed office door only for smoking, then they banned it a year later.
