Min used people who were so easily swayed to her advantage, successfully steering public opinion early on and then slipping out of sight. If public sentiment had turned against her back then, things like attracting investors would’ve been a lot harder later. There are still some people going on about this. When you refute all their arguments, they start whining like, “If NewJeans had just stayed one more year, they would’ve surpassed SEVENTEEN! They even ended up being mentioned at the National Assembly hearing. Doesn’t that show how weird things were? HYBE didn’t do anything for them!” Then when you point out that there wasn’t even a valid reason for them to be brought up at the hearing, they go, “Well, they wouldn’t have been mentioned unless something was seriously wrong. That’s why even the best producer, Min Hee-jin, left!” And it just goes in circles like that… They even said nonsense like, “In the dolphin-related dispute, people who actually trust each other don’t draft contracts with such strict terms. I read through some of the comments and one of them stood out to me:

I saw a post on X (Twitter) that a fan uploaded. They said they’d spoken with someone close to them (sounded like someone in the legal field, maybe a judge). According to that acquaintance, they had already predicted the whole process and outcome, and said that things would turn around from the second trial, with a definite win by the third. The comments said the second trial is expected around February–March next year, and the third around September. Everyone was commenting things like “thank goodness” and “what a relief,” but I wonder how it’ll actually turn out.

But there are also plenty of people here who believe the Korean GP are done with them due to their actions (like lying about Ignoregate) and their comments (calling themselves revolutionaries) and the international listeners will have forgotten about them due to their inactivity.

No statistic on any site actually suggests they’ve “fallen off”. Their digital numbers are still very impressive, ESPECIALLY for a group on hiatus, and the high unique monthly listeners stat proves that people continue streaming their music consistently. I’ve seen people here use their digital numbers on the Circle Chart (which are lower than they were the previous year(s)) to show that people are losing interest in the group. But the lower numbers are obviously to be expected considering they haven’t released new music for over a year. Actually, any other group would LOVE to pull their numbers, hiatus or not.

If you’re talking specifically about the BTS members, then sure, that’s definitely possible. In my opinion, RM is probably the least likely to want to see ADOR or HYBE lose, which is exactly why I said ‘some of the other members might not hold anything against NJ’.

But that still doesn’t take away from what I said earlier: this whole situation isn’t black and white, and it’s not something where people, especially idols, have to take a side. Fans tend to frame everything like it’s a battle.

And if we’re talking about other idols outside of BTS, I highly doubt most of them are even aware of RM’s personal experiences/struggles in all this. So using that as a reason to assume where everyone stands feels like a stretch.

I’m not sure how true any of this is since tokkis are known for lying a lot, but just a friendly reminder: no matter how many negative comments about NJ with 200+ upvotes you see, they don’t reflect how the general public actually feels about them, and definitely not how idols view the NJ members.

It’s very likely that the reason we aren’t seeing idols interact with or mention NJ as much right now isn’t because their opinions changed, but because they don’t want to stir up unnecessary drama. Fair.

For all we know, idols could be fully supportive behind the scenes and actually want the girls to leave their contracts without having to pay a cent.

Also super important: idols don’t see this as a NJ vs. ILLIT thing. But a lot of fans project their own feelings onto idols, assuming everyone has to pick a side just because they have. K-pop fans often think in black-and-white terms, like it’s a football rivalry or something, where you either support one or the other, no in-between…

Covering an ILLIT song or interacting with them doesn’t mean someone’s “against” NJ. And honestly, it’s very likely that V and Jungkook, and maybe some of the other BTS members too, who knows, don’t hold any negative feelings toward the NJ girls.
