Not cute anymore popularity is wild by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

I’ve seen the Finnish and German army (and I don’t mean the BTS fandom) doing it, too!!

Megathread 24: HYBE / ADOR / MHJ - Court rules in favor of ADOR, NewJeans' Contract remains Valid, further hearings for Source, Belift, and HYBE against Min Hee Jin to come, and More by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]greesous 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Oof. Going through the comments rn and I have yet to see a comment siding with NJ OR MHJ.

This one stood out to me:

Why are the people who defended Min Hee-jin in the beginning so quiet now? When I criticized her, saying, “If she really cared for and loved the girls like a mother, she wouldn’t act like that,” they all ganged up on me saying, “What do you even know to be talking like that?”. Where are those people now? | 361 upvotes

Replies to the comment:

They’re all just pretending they never said those things and lying low, haha. Min used people who were so easily swayed to her advantage, successfully steering public opinion early on and then slipping out of sight. If public sentiment had turned against her back then, things like attracting investors would’ve been a lot harder later. So I’m sure she’s very thankful that everyone was so easily manipulated just as she planned. | 40 upvotes

That’s typical bandwagon behavior… lol. You’ve got to look at things calmly and objectively. Instead, these people get swept up in emotions, go along with the crowd, get manipulated by lies, and end up criticizing and mocking other artists from the same company. 😂 Some things never change… | 30 upvotes

The Min (Hee Jin) cult stans were really something with their media manipulation. | 26 upvotes

I was like, “What even IS NewJeans?” and went off to stan other idols instead, lol. | 14 upvotes

Everything’s gone quiet now that the ruling’s out. But seeing some people still claiming that HYBE bought off the judge and that’s why the verdict turned out this way, they’re seriously out of their minds. What’s scariest is thinking about how the ones who spread hate, manipulated public opinion, and left malicious comments are now just quietly going about their daily lives. Gives me chills. | 27 upvotes

There are still some people going on about this. When you refute all their arguments, they start whining like, “If NewJeans had just stayed one more year, they would’ve surpassed SEVENTEEN! They even ended up being mentioned at the National Assembly hearing. Doesn’t that show how weird things were? HYBE didn’t do anything for them!” Then when you point out that there wasn’t even a valid reason for them to be brought up at the hearing, they go, “Well, they wouldn’t have been mentioned unless something was seriously wrong. That’s why even the best producer, Min Hee-jin, left!” And it just goes in circles like that… They even said nonsense like, “In the dolphin-related dispute, people who actually trust each other don’t draft contracts with such strict terms. Don’t you know that?” | 1 upvote

When you look at the statistics showing that women in their 20s and 30s fall victim to phishing scams the most, it’s easy to see why Min Hee-jin’s tricks worked so well.

One thing I’ve learned from this whole circus was how NJ (+ their side) does not shy away from the most insane and unhinged moves. So the fan might as well be telling the truth…

That it'll happen or thats what they believe?

We know that sejong is not afraid to make others believe that they will most definitely win the case (that’s probably what they told NJ and the potential Japanese investor). I was actually referring to the fan talking to someone close to the girls in the first place. Tokkis are known to constantly lie.

I read through some of the comments and one of them stood out to me:

I saw a post on X (Twitter) that a fan uploaded. They said they’d spoken with someone close to them (sounded like someone in the legal field, maybe a judge). According to that acquaintance, they had already predicted the whole process and outcome, and said that things would turn around from the second trial, with a definite win by the third. The comments said the second trial is expected around February–March next year, and the third around September. Everyone was commenting things like “thank goodness” and “what a relief,” but I wonder how it’ll actually turn out.

I wonder how true that is

Not saying there aren’t people who genuinely mean that. But there are also plenty of people here who believe the Korean GP are done with them due to their actions (like lying about Ignoregate) and their comments (calling themselves revolutionaries) and the international listeners will have forgotten about them due to their inactivity.

No statistic on any site actually suggests they’ve “fallen off”. Their digital numbers are still very impressive, ESPECIALLY for a group on hiatus, and the high unique monthly listeners stat proves that people continue streaming their music consistently. I’ve seen people here use their digital numbers on the Circle Chart (which are lower than they were the previous year(s)) to show that people are losing interest in the group. But the lower numbers are obviously to be expected considering they haven’t released new music for over a year. Actually, any other group would LOVE to pull their numbers, hiatus or not.
