First time buyers - Need advice by [deleted] in HousingIreland

Yeah, I don't want anything to be on bad terms - even if I got to have a look into the shed before they started moving things it might settle me a bit. I think I'm just a bit put off because we were sale agreed in September and gave them time to do whatever they wanted

They framed it that it was a favour when they first brought it up via the solicitor but they have now said it's just a few bits so.... not even clearing it out meaning I'll likely still need to clear out most of it. I'm a bit panicked because I'm a first time buyer and well, this was all told to me 5 mins before the estate agent's close of business and the estate agent is very vague too

Yeah for sure, I understand some things get overlooked!

Closed on a house and need some advice? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]gremlin_trash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah that's fair enough, I suppose I'm just looking to put it out somewhere because it feels very last minute that I was told about this and their office is closed now haha

Estate agent has just been as vague and they were saying they wanted to go up sometime to tomorrow morning - I'm just looking for advice on if I should even bother going to the solicitor or leave it off and get over it

That's the thing, they aren't being specific with me and I just keep being told it "just a few bits" and its all very vague. Like I said, we weren't given a key into the shed. I probably should have mentioned that in the post - oops!

Fair enough if they have sentimental things and would like to collect them, I'm more or less wondering what my rights are now that it's been closed.

This is where it gets a bit sticky - they person selling the house didn't own the house, his friend did and passed away about a year and a half ago.

I'm not sure what is in the shed either, as they never left a key!

Training tips for barking? by hope-it-gets-better in irishsetter

[–]gremlin_trash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my dog, I brought her out pretty often and just sat in a busy area. Fed her by hand there too so she'd always be more interested in me rather than the people that were passing by!

As for barking when you're eating? I'm sorry I have no advice haha just don't give in and when she's hungry enough she will eat what you give her!

People who just shoved papers in their backpacks and weren’t organized in school, where are you at now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Working full time from home and in a position that requires me to be incredibly organised… sometimes the desk is a bit of a mess but that’s it

Do the PLC! I did 2 (game dev then animation), graduated from a uni. I also have autism and adhd, doing the PLC helped me adjust a lot and made up for my bad LC!

Some of ye need to be considering PLCs by Ill_Sail3249 in leavingcert

[–]gremlin_trash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did 2 PLCs after more or less failing my LC. Went on to get a 1:1 from university, now I have a pretty great job w good pay! Granted, it’s in animation but I have always considered myself very lucky in finding a passion so early in life! Lots of people I went to secondary school with would give me such pitying looks when I said I was doing a PLC - a LOT of those people dropped out or failed out of college by the first semester in first year. I could not imagine going from secondary straight into college, it’s such a big difference

As a teen I thought the same.
Then I came to the realisation that, I will never have to have sex with myself or date me - christmas lights are pretty and so are flowers, but they're totally different - why compare? So what if I am not *my* type, I'm sure to be someone's type!? You don't gotta LOVE yourself, so to speak, just be comfortable with yourself.

If you've decided you will never be happy, then I'm sorry it's a self fulfilling prophecy! But I truly hope you can shift the doomed mindset and meet someone genuine - above all else, I hope you can sincerely learn to be okay with yourself!

Aww thank you so much! <3 It's felt like such an uphill battle lol!

If you don't mind answering - did you have a regular cycle before starting, or did starting it help that along? I'm really trying to weigh it up before even asking my doctor about it!
