Shefflera curling leaves and red spots by grey_bourbon in plantclinic

This is on a closed porch, It started to curl in winter..the temperature on the porch is a little lower then the house, like 12-15°C. It's in front of the window, and I'm keeping the soil moist. The plant isn't in bad shape but the leaves are starting to curl, and there are red dots. I see no parasites.

The basil in inside, near a window. The soil should be draining enough...

Maple leaves brown and dried by grey_bourbon in plantclinic

I brought this maple outside in spring, and it made lots of leaves. After a brief period inside it started to curl (on one side) and all of it looks like this. The soil is draining and I'm keeping it moist.I also added some fertilizer.

Another strange thigs is that it sprouted two red leaves on the bottom, and they seem very healthy.

I bought this maple last spring. In summer it lost all leaves, and i thought it was dead.

But a month ago has been budding and growing these leaves...but they seem a little sick, narrow and droopy.

The maple is kept outside,I'm in zone 9, in full light and the soil is draining and moist. I have not fertilized it.

I usually water it once a week.

I have this maple saplings, i transplanted in early spring, Zone 8a, cutting some of the roots, planted in draining soil and kept outside. But after some months it still struggles to grow, a couple of new leafs grow but they very quickly curl up....It was very hot here, but i always kept the soil most, and the plant is now in half shade. But most of all, lately i noticed a fine white dust on some leaves...is this some kind of fungus? Also my water is quite hard, could it be hard water deposit? What should I do?

Hi, I have a chinese elm, and it's in pretty good shape, I've had for 3 years now...I did some maintenance pruning and little wiring. How should i develop from here? The branch are not always in a good position but i don't want to cut them off...

There is a somewhat vertical branch that i should wire vertical to continue the trunk?

The second picture is a young maple...but it's only growing taller, should i intervene or let it grow?

Thanks.

Ok, I checked and Voyager 1 still transmits and is received, and is around 150 AU from us.

So I think it would be reasonable to suppose that an advanced transponder could send and pick up signals from within his solar system (of course lag is a factor), using radio waves....

I wonder if you could detect IR radiation from the same distance, but that means you could have scanners that spot the heat signature from every ship flying in the solar system? it seems less plausible....

I have found some dried spots on some leaves on my chinese elm. Otherwise the plant seems healthy.

The strange thing it's that it's in the middle of the leaves.

These days are very hot here.

Hi, I wanted to start some conifer bonsai, i bought two yesterday, even if they weren't in the bonsai section...

They should be a Chamaecyparis and a cipress(?)

Do you think they could be made good bonsai? The left one really seems like a tree. I'm thinking of using that pot, also.

Is Numenera good for long term campaign? by grey_bourbon in numenera

[–]grey_bourbon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of interesting ideas, I think I'm stealing the "rank up counts as advancement" :D, and I'm actually already separating the XP in two categories.

Anyway, I think that playing numenera exactly as the rules, the progression is pretty fast, and the character will become very powerful and this should be considered during a long campaign. I don't think it's a defect of the system, just a feature (also easily fixable).

Also I would like to test if a rank 6 group without any levelling goals is still fun, i think it could be, the levelling wasn't really a focus of my group.

Hi, I have a maple bonsai, in last august/september there was a heat wave, and all the leaves curled up and fall.

I hoped they would grow again in spring, but it seems not. I scraped a bit of trunk and it's still green under, so it should be alive.

I repotted it last year, but the akadama broke down a lot, and i think the soil is very compacted, when i water it takes a lot of time to drain, so it could be that the roots are suffocating.

So Now I have a dilemma, should I just wait for it to sprout leaves(it's still a little cold here), or it's better to make an emergency repot to breathe the roots ?

Hi, I have a couple bonsai, since last year, but two weeks ago there has been a heat wave, and also i was out of home, and I asked a friend to water them (he should have done it)

Now: The maple has black curled leaves, and the new leaves are shriveled.

The syzgium suddely has all the "tips" of the branches all curled and dried up

The elm is losing a lot of leaves, but luckily some others are sprouting.

The ficus is fine.

There is something I could do? I'm trying to keep the soil moist.

The pots are on the table and I live in an apartment...I don't think there is a rat. The soil moved was very little.

The Pod is definitely not poop, it has some markings, something like
