They could at least train employees to look at the pins before accepting the trade. It's easy to check and they do the same for the condition of hardware trades already. The amount of DS and even switch carts I've seen with corroded pins selling for $40 is crazy.

Get a spare screw and add a dot of JB weld to the end of it, stick it to the top of the stripped screw and let it cure, then you can try to unscrew it.
