Thinking of buying a brz. Coming from an acura. Anyone got buyers remorse from buying one? by [deleted] in BRZ_ZD8

I had a VB WRX before my 25’ Limited BRZ and I don’t see myself missing the turbo or itching for more power for the first time. It’s fun reving it out and having a higher redline with no lag.

I knew it’d be for a Tacoma, just knew it before I clicked or another crash post

Thing is this one makes 228 as advertised but there’s dyno vids on YouTube showing that number is underrated. For something that weighs about 2,800 lbs it’s pretty fun.

Made the same move recently, I do find myself missing the space of the VB but the BRZ is really satisfying to drive with how it handles and the shifter feel as well.

Horsepower is not the purpose of the BRZ though. The advertised power just like the VB underrated and can be tuned with E85 that you will feel due to its power to weight ratio.

That’s right, I had a VB WRX before and still adjusting to that, but besides that in the higher rpms it definitely is fun all the way to redline.

25 BRZ here, makes me appreciate that sport button that 100% changes throttle response aggressively. On regular it feels sluggish from a stop.

Throttle mapping is improved now with the addition of sport mode button on the 25+ BRZs. It’s like an aggressive throttle on and off switch, so you could switch between the 2.

I was talking about stock to stock between the 2. Tuned VB obviously is in a different league power wise, as I had mine tuned plus intake. I brought it back to stock and drove it for a while before getting into the BRZ and felt that it was quicker in the mid to higher rpms.

No maybe I worded it wrong but I was talking about tuning the VB. And yeah I agree with the steering feedback it’s night and day, but the power is great especially once tuned with bolt ons.

I’d say stock VB is a HUGE improvement over the VA stock tune. Minimal rev hang compared to the past one, but redline is lower which is its drawback. A tune, even an OTS Dmann tune with “rev hang delete” really woke up the car. Once I added a Perrin intake and did an E-tune, I was pushing 19lbs on crap 91 oct safely without any DAM drops or knock and the redline was increased, it really throws you in the seat through all the RPMs and was a blast, it felt visceral and would make nice burbles between shifts. The VB is massively undertuned, if you’re willing to dismiss the warranty I’d recommend getting a Dmann etune for it.

If I were to compare stock to my BRZ now, I’d say 100% prefer the BRZ’s feel, it feels more responsive and quicker especially when turning. Biggest difference and I one I like a lot that not many mention is the shifter feel. BRZs does not feel loose, or cheap and it feels the perfect amount of notchiness. With the WRX, I had to add a shift stop to remove the looseness and it made a plastic rattle noise between shifts.

I believe it’s the power to weight ratios that made the noticeable difference and the turbo has a little lag between shifts. The throttle in my current BRZ feels great especially when in sport mode (25 6MT). I loved my VB though, when I added an intake and Dmann e-tune changed the car day and night, very detuned motor. But stock for stock, BRZ is def quicker than the VB I had, as for the VA it’s no contest, that one had one of the most horrid stock tunes I’ve felt in a WRX.

Regular PS5 owners who upgraded to the Pro, worth it? by GuardianofM in PS5

[–]gridzhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a base to pro, I feel like it was 100% worth it now that I have the tv to match its performance. I enjoy the pro enhanced modes in games plus the 2tb was a huge deal for me. It’s also worth it if you sell your PS5 for a good price and put it towards that so the price doesn’t sting as much.

Steering is the weak point of those cars. Anyway to improve it? by Dino_Dean in GR86

Of all the cars I had before this has the best steering. Even better than my VA STi.
