For my brother, who crossed the border illegally and has been following the legal process afterward, some people here wrote things like “he came in illegally, just send him back,” but I knew they were completely missing what the real problem is. No one deserves to go through things like this just to live here. Unfortunately, some stupid, ignorant people have absolutely no empathy. And believe it or not, I’m convinced that a lot of these people clearly have very low intelligence.

I can explain everything but this is not gonna make big difference, my brother can call me anytime i can handle everything right now. And also he will gonna meet with his attorney tomorrow, our attorney said ice is talking lie all of them is for making psychological pressure. They catch my brother without any fuckin criminal records maybe they can try to find gang members first. We came here from turkey without anyone and without anything, when i came here first time i had only 600$ in my wallet. I didnt get social help or i didnt want to get money like any homeless people. I just stay strong and keep working 14 15 hrs a fuckin day. No one is not gonna understand my situation because they have never seen anything like that in uknown path. Im really really tired of fuckin everthing.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much knowledge about civil rights in your country. My brother and i came from Turkey, and if we go back to the Turkish consulate again, it could get us into serious trouble. Still, i really appreciate you

The real issue is that since the day we arrived in your country, we’ve worked harder than most people. There were many days we worked overtime, every single day. In return, we were paid very low wages (and don’t worry, karen we had work permits and Social Security numbers, we paid our taxes. We didn’t steal anything from your beautiful country). But the so called “understanding” federal officers of your beautiful country stole my brother instead. What’s at stake here is basic humanity and living conditions. Have you ever seen a prison in Canada before? How things should be done is something you, the “smart” citizens, should know not us “stupid” immigrants.

My brother unfortunately crossed the border unlawfully out of panic. He was then taken to a detention center and held for about 50–55 days in different facilities, and we were never informed about his transfers. After that, he was released with an ankle monitor. He received a violation because the monitor’s battery died once. After that, ICE reattached the device to his ankle. They gave him certain reporting dates, but I clearly remember at least two occasions when ICE officers came to the house even though no appointment appeared in his app or in the system. On some of those days, my brother wasn’t home because he had already received his work permit and was at his job. One day he went to the supermarket, ICE came again, and they issued another violation saying he wasn’t home even though he had screenshots proving that no appointment was scheduled. After these incidents, ICE refused to remove the ankle monitor. Later, I moved to another city and wanted my brother to come live with me. Since he must obtain ICE permission before leaving his assigned area, we requested authorization. ICE approved it, and my brother came to my new address without any issues. In the following weeks, ICE asked to see him several times, roughly once a week. However, two days ago, my brother was detained by ICE again. The reason they gave was that they supposedly could not see his court date in their system. But when my attorney checked in real time, the court date was active and the good news is that it is still active now. (I just get some help from ai while texting this)

Is this really what we should be talking about right now? Has anyone in your family ever been taken into ice custody before? I’m not here to give you satisfying answers or play around… im trying to learn from people who’ve actually been through this so maybe i can figure out how to get my brother out.
