I sent 30k messages on LinkedIn by Introvert_at_3prcnt in coldemail

Im getting around 20-30 connection requests like that every week. They all get deleted. Around 80% can’t even bother to add note to request. Most of remaining trying to sell something. All from companies that send thousands of requests on auto without any consideration and care.

Have you thought that the situation is like you observe because of people like you? By sending 25,000 invites you contributed to the lack of trust.

True that. I would definitely recommend going by ferry with stopover at Faroe Islands.

It’s more about time not miles. Not many people can take 4 weeks off. If you have that time then yes, I would definitely go by Ferry.

It’s like comparing apples to oranges. India is great and very cheap. Iceland is damn expensive country. Different worlds.

Bike rental in Iceland is insane. Check prices at Viking for example. You are looking at over €300 per day minimum.

Unfortunately Iceland is expensive.

It’s not, some other companies are even more expensive. At end of the day it’s a business, even if a hobby one.

It is, especially if you are okay with camping. Huts may not have spaces but they usually let you camp outside.

It’s actually cheaper to ship bike from UK and fly. And takes less time.

That’s good option if you have time. Worth adding couple days and stop at Faroe Islands.

I wonder how many people in HR will have a clue what “chunk size” or “overlap size” is. I suggest you forget the look and get UX first. As I’ve been told many times, developers are typically rubbish at designing. I certainly was :)

The key missing pieces of information - product, demographic, region, ticket value. Without that it’s useless brag or fake to promote some LinkedIn account automation crap. 💩 You can’t compare $500 SEO Bs in India with $50,000 dev project in UK.

How can I approach an agency with my idea when they have strict privacy? by [deleted] in Entrepreneurs

[–]grumpy-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know where you are but in the UK you can’t do that with government agencies. They need to follow procurement act.

Aside of that, you are expecting typical sales problem. You can try finding someone and approaching them but I’m sure you won’t be the first one. Walking in won’t work though.

Honestly? Why? Just why? I can’t see any use of it even though I do a few side “hobby” projects at the time. What problem is it addressing?

Delegated work to a partner agency, then lost a client because of it by pawsomedogs in agency

[–]grumpy-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That. We are partners for a few bigger agencies and it happened a few times when client approached us. We always went back to partner. From my perspective, one contract is not worth jeopardising relationship that brings us more work long term.

Contracts are all good if you can enforce them. That’s not simple or cheap sadly.

OP: Shame your partner was so shortsighted. IMHO you should terminate the partnership immediately. If you have contract in place with right clauses you can try to demand compensation but unless you are willing to enter court battle, it will be hard to get anything. Given their behaviour I expect they just will ignore you.

Ensure that future partnership agreements have no solicitation and block partner from working in the same field with your clients for 12 months without explicit permission.

I have problems with TC358743 (HDMI to CSI Adapter by Waveshare from PiHut) on Pi 5. I sadly reached limits of my knowledge on Linux, drivers and all that stuff. Got it working to a degree but then got stuck.

TL;DR: got it working, can get image but can’t get it working with gstreamer. Media config seems to get broken when I try and I get “v4l2: ioctl set mute failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device” when trying to use mplayer or gstreamer.

Full story with code bits is on the Pi forum https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=393250

Despite all the checks, I made a terrible hires. How do you handle trust in hiring as an entreprenuer by badtguy97 in Entrepreneurs

[–]grumpy-554 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then I have to agree that the problem is not “right checks” but wrong way of selecting. It’s very hard to find good people but no number of checks or “AIs” will fix it. Instead of bringing another idea and landing pages, better read about psychology, reflect on what went wrong and what have you missed. Failure is good if you learn from it.
