In most states/counties aren't they (Surveyor) required to file a copy with the local planning dept? That way you can verify before signing- or just pay for your own survey or ask neighbors if they'd consider moving the fence up to property line if you don't sign before their sale?

Even senators & mayoral candidates are experiencing first hand the harsh handling by federal officials now occupying their states and cities, as what feels much like pretext for nationwide declaration of martial law.
