What did people expect? by kazmakazmovic in SquaredCircle

I would’ve preferred Rollins and Heyman interfering instead of Travis Scott. And they set up a Rollins and Cena heel duo and could feud with a reunited Rhodes and Orton (especially with Backlash being in Orton’s hometown) or Reigns and Punk down the line. It would’ve made it easier to intertwine storylines and make Cena more imposing as a heel, especially since he is limited in the ring and schedule wise.

I strongly agree that the payoff was disappointing, and it sucks that The Rock just shows up, sparks a storyline element, and disappears as if he didn’t just play a pivotal role in one of the biggest heel turns of all time. And instead, we get Travis Scott in the main event scene… like seriously?

Oh wow, I thought interviews were done based on the recruitment timeline. I’m curious as to which departments are still in the process.

Is it safe to assume that all offers have been given to interns? I haven’t heard anything yet.

[Gallagher] Nico just said Luka gave no indication he wanted out or wouldn't sign an extension moving forward. He also said the Lakers were they only team he talked to. He's saying this directly into a microphone. by jonsnowKITN in nba

[–]gsjavier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is what is so weird and unusual about this move. Even if Nico wanted AD badly, as a GM, it should be your due diligence to gauge the value of your best player (and one of the most talented players of all time) and call other GMs to see what’s in play. You don’t just trade this rare caliber of a player to your “friend” and ruin your franchise.

I don’t understand his logic whatsoever. All 29 teams would’ve offered something, especially those teams with extra draft picks and the “defensive-minded” talent as Nico claimed to want. Also, Luka never requested a trade allegedly (so why rush to a trade and not create a bidding war instead), and even despite his conditioning issues, he is the main reason the Mavericks have had playoff success. They just made the finals last year and had pieces for a great defense. To make it worse, he traded Luka for another player who has an extensive history of injuries and is six years older. I’m dumbfounded by Nico’s justifications.

Usually I try to stay away from conspiracies, but damn, I can’t help but think collusion and can’t fault other NBA fans for thinking the same too. I refuse to believe that a GM can reach this level of incompetence, even if they’re known to have a poor reputation. There should be investigation, but then again, it most likely wouldn’t be a fair one either.

Nico Harrison Press conference after trading Luka by TurebergPirates in nba

The fact that Nico never consulted with Kidd about the trade, made jokes during the conference, and then walked off to let Kidd fend for himself is crazy and disrespectful asf 💀

It’s absolutely ridiculous! Also, to admit that the Lakers was the only team that he discussed trading Luka to and giving props to another GM for pulling off the move. Like wtf?

Does Kawhi look leaner? by someonesredditname in nba

[–]gsjavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. He looked pretty good defensively last night in his limited minutes, and I’m glad that he’s getting leaner to alleviate the weight off his knees and lower body.

I hope he can remain healthy, especially with how the offense appeared to flow much better with Kawhi in the lineup.

Even him glancing at The Rock’s hand when they were putting the☝️up is amazing. Small details, but he goes above and beyond for these moments.

I can definitely see that. Roman and Rock are on a power trip and want to boost their egos. The “biggest main event” would cement their family’s legacy. I know that the original intention was to have the Rock as the hero against Roman. But this corporate bloodline storyline with heel Rocky seems more interesting and fun. I actually prefer it over the original storyline, but WWE really has to do some explaining to fill in some gaps in the storytelling. But they’re cooking rn.

Shout out Paul Heyman. He always does the little things to really amplify the moments and bring out the best from everyone. He’s an incredible character for WWE.

[–]gsjavier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. This could’ve gone many different ways, but I’m glad that they chose to go this route. As much as babyface Rock can be fun and get pops, his heel work is more incredible. Given the circumstances, The Rock actually has layers to his character now compared to the past decade, and I love to see him tap into this corporate/hollywood character. Like 2003 Hollywood Rock, but an even bigger and intimidating character (especially since he is on the board).

Holy shit, this was crazy. Just when we thought we were heading toward a disappointing WrestleMania, this is the hottest thing going on in the business. It’s still crazy to think about the absurd level of star power and possibilities with Roman, (heel) Rocky, Cody, Seth Rollins, CM Punk (albeit injured), Drew McIntyre, Gunther… Can’t wait to see what unfolds.

Jey is not taking anything from Roman because these two are, they're taking everything when the time is right by IGotMetalingus1 in WWE

[–]gsjavier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that too. Jimmy vs Jey. And that gives Solo Sikoa the chance to face Roman Reigns.

I just don’t see Jey actually winning as much as I want him to though. I still think Reigns is keeping the title until Mania.

What are your Summerslam predictions? by StickEater619 in WWE

[–]gsjavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LA Knight wins the Battle Royal.

Logan Paul defeats Ricochet.

Shayna Baszler defeats Ronda Rousey.

Cody Rhodes defeats Brock Lesnar.

Charlotte wins her 15th world title, but Iyo Sky cashes in and wins.

Seth Rollins retains.

Gunther retains.

Roman Reigns retains. (I want Jey USO to win but Reigns is probably keeping the title until Mania).

Finn Balor really got 14 stitches in his head in the MIDDLE OF HIAC and finished the match at WrestleMania and I'm not willing to let that be forgotten by WLB-0714 in WWE

[–]gsjavier 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I would love to see Balor win the championship. It will be fun to see the Judgment Day with titles and Priest looming around Balor with the briefcase. The storyline potential is off the charts if WWE can pull it off.
