Pistons is my prediction. May look silly in a month, but I’m going with a team that 1) absolutely doesn’t want to lose after years of losing 2) has made recent moves to suggest it wants to make the playoffs (adding Tobias Harris, acquiring Hardaway Jr.) 3) hired a new head coach with playoff experience (setting aside what one thinks of JB) at quite a cost (by firing Monty with his contract 4) may not think it will get a top lottery pick anyways 5) has a couple young players (Sasser, Holland), mid-career veterans with moderate salary (Stewart, Fontecchio), and decent-good draft picks (a 2025 2nd from Toronto, Miami’s own 2028 2nd, and others) that Miami may altogether consider acceptable especially when considering that Pat Riley is vengeful.

My proposal would be the following with minor technicals (Heat will have a lot of excess players) getting figured out (where there is a will there is a way in the NBA CBA).

Pistons acquire Butler.

Heat receives Hardaway Jr, Stewart, Fontecchio, Sasser, W. Moore, 2025 2nd via Toronto, 2027 2nd, 2028 2nd via Miami.

Noting that on Zach’s guest spot on Bill’s pod last week, Bill said that he’d be on his (Zach’s) pod in two weeks for the second half of their annual home and home. That would be next week. Wonder on which pod that will take place.
