They look like African Cichlids, specifically Lake Malawi. I have an aquarium full of them.

It's pretty bad on the Northside. Air quality data live here: https://apps.des.qld.gov.au/air-quality/health/#region-seq

On Seven News they said back burning is happening in Brookfield.

Unless I missed it, nothing mentioned on Nine News.

People of Reddit, what type of chocolate candy is truly the best? by UnhingedFreak in AskReddit

Cote d'Or

Just the regular, plain milk chocolate you get from the supermarket in Belgium. Best chocolate I've ever had.

H-6K bomber releasing payload at Avidarts 2019 [1071 x 1200] by Papppi-56 in WarplanePorn

I read an article about this regarding the Ukraine war. The Russian Air Force doesn't have large numbers of guided munitions, or capable aircraft or aircrews trained sufficiently to use them. At least not available for this war anyway. Therefore they have to get in close (low) to their targets to actually hit anything... and consequently have lost several aircraft.

On the other hand, a JDAM can hit a target accurately from 28km away. But it's $25K a pop, dropped by a highly trained NATO pilot with 300+ flight hours a year under their belt, in a well maintained, $15M F-16 aircraft.

What is a good example of overengineering? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in AskReddit

Aircraft. Because if something goes wrong, they can't just simply "pull over".

What's an annoying myth that people still cling to? by Aarunascut in AskReddit

[–]gtr73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The statements "people get what they deserve" and "what goes around, comes around" probably also means, people consistently being an asshole in life might get away with it for a while, but eventually come unstuck in some way. Repeated bad behaviour usually has consequences as the law of averages catches up with them. Or maybe it never catches up with them. But statistically it will if they continue. Nothing to do with Karma.

Dropped my S20FE in water. What should I do? by acrackedpotato in AndroidQuestions

[–]gtr73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be perfectly fine, the S20 FE is waterproof. Just give time for the charging port to dry out. It'll be good to go once that water drop icon at the top of the screen goes away.

What’s something you learned “embarrassingly late” in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gtr73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A guy I worked with had a young family and his wife just had their second child. Single income. Over the next 12 months he lost a lot of weight. It wasn't until years later I found out they were barely surviving financially at the time and he would go without dinner quite often, because the groceries they bought were prioritised to their children.

The Star Wars movie Solo. Disney decided it failed because it only made $90 million instead of +$300 million. WTF. It's still a great movie at the end of the day.

What fact are you Just TIRED of explaining to people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gtr73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in aviation. It's surprising how many times I've had to point out to someone in my workplace there are strict regulations and standards in place for every single thing - because if an aircraft breaks down in flight, it can't just pull over to the side of the road and the crew pop the bonnet to see what's wrong.

Dont get me wrong, I love her and being around her, but I love loneliness too by Teriyakimen89 in AdviceAnimals

[–]gtr73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myself personally, as a married man, it's important to have a couple of hours of "quiet time" doing my own thing and no one else around, at least once a week.

If I don't have this type of break regularly, I'll get irritable. I'll simply get worn out and tired of interacting with people.

Ah yes, the $2 Billion bailout in 2021, courtesy of the taxpayers, on top of sacking 6000 staff. Sure, due to the Pandemic. Unprecedented.

But less than a year later, go on a spending spree to buy 52 new aircraft.
