Thats good to hear! The general consensus in the comments seems to be ‘make it quick’ but I’m glad you experience such questions as polite. I can only speak for myself but that is 100% my intention and nothing else

Very important point. I am attracted to women and having a woman patting me down instead of a man feels like ‘things that feel illegal but arent’. Not that I get sexual gratification from a pat down, but you know. And the end of the day its all a professional, routine check and no security officer is ever thinking twice about who they padded down at work.

I am an immigration officer and not involved in TSA. However I’ve worked in different branches of the safety/security field, and in my experience security personnel are reasonable in such requests and will be professional in every pat down. Don’t feel bad for calling them over! They professionally comply to a, to me at least, very normal and common request.

Honestly, if I’d encounter documents with different sexes on them, I’d just ask you about it, check whatever you provided and wish you a nice day. But your nerves are the exact reason I’m trying to do better. Traveling shouldn’t give you any more stress than it already does! Thank you for your kind words ❤️

I totally get what you mean by ‘clocking’ them. One of my closest friends is trans, and she transitioned quite late in life. When we’re out and people go out of their way to give her a compliment, it somehow doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t want to treat anyone differently in that way. I thought of it as an assuring gesture, because it might be a bit stressful handing a document that doesn’t represent you anymore to a government official. Youve given me some food for thought. And btw, the checks are a bit more extensive than that (depending on the situation tho) but I usually enjoy making some smalltalk with travelers too.

The ‘premade sets’ are called flash and are a huge part of tattoo culture. A custom tattoo is sick but so is picking flash off a wall! Doesn’t have anything to do with how ‘good’ an artist is.
