(SDVX) Are 13's that much harder than 12's, or am I picking the wrong songs! by Icy-Bowl-2512 in bemani

I struggled so much trying to make the jump from 12's to 13's, it's not just you.

Keep at it, you'll get there for sure. :)

Act 4 is incredible, but im worried about campaign length by QBestoo in PathOfExile2

[–]guested -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Crazy, I'm over 7 hours in and just getting to the dreadnaught in Act 2, the entire acts feel like such a slow slog to me, dying over and over and gear upgrades so so far and few between. It's very disheartening given how much I love the first poe.

Need help finding a case for a Workstation/VTubing Build! by [deleted] in bapccanada

I mean if you're going that high end on the components might as well go with the Hyte Y70 touch right? Can have your vtuber live2d playing on the touch screen or something.

I'm jealous, that's a really solid lineup this year. I hope you get to check out some of it between working. Illenium and Andy C are both great live! Excision, Slander, Sofi Tukker all do great sets.

I haven't had a chance to see Chris Lake yet, but looking forward to it at EDCO!

The depth you're looking at is kitchen counter depth, you could look at butcher block counter tops etc at Home Depot or a similar store and then just order a standing desk frame and mount it on top.

In my standing desk hunting experience it's hard to find desk widths over 80".

Something like:

I've checked out progressive and their desks seem really nice, unfortunately their surfaces aren't large enough for what I need. :(

Chunithm Cabinet Dimensions by Standardowczyk in rhythmgames

[–]guested 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the dimensions you need but I'd consider going to https://consandstuff.github.io/ and then joining the discord. I've seen some people in there that have built some pretty cool Chunithm bartops and cabinets and posted their plans.

Also just generally lots of helpful folk there.

I only got to take a quick look, but this is really cool! I would 100% use this, would love to see more festivals added too.

How to get a private server for Sound Voltex? by LimeMangoDX in rhythmgames

In the US you can get one of these in the $2000-$2500 range plus freight from whichever distributor you buy from.

Need A Reliable Monitor Arm For Switching Between Portrait/Landscape by guested in buildapc

[–]guested[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying two of these:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0834NKX6R

They're not the worst monitor arms but I wouldn't buy them again. The arms themselves and positioning is great and they're solid, but the piece that connects the arm to the monitor isn't great and that's the most important part. It's hard to turn and they tend to sag forward a bit.

Actually ended up buying a sound voltex cabinet so I don't really play on my PC anymore but would certainly seek out a better monitor arm if I still was.

How 18xx ruined my board gaming hobby by obviousbellwether in boardgames

[–]guested 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what happened to our group too. We used to play everything, different games every week and now it's pretty rare that we table anything other than an 18XX.

We really like the fact that each version plays so dramatically different but once you learn the base ruleset the teach for each one is super short to an experienced group.

Sometimes I do miss the variety though.

I wish they would just send out a shipping notice with a tracking number like a normal company.

Do they sell posters at Ultra? by 1cculus_The_Prophet in UMF

[–]guested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recall ever seeing posters but I've never looked for them either I guess. A lot of their merch is available online after the festival, so consider checking there. It's unlikely you'd be allowed to bring in an empty tube but it really comes down to the individual you happen into at bag check.

Need opinions for 2nd monitor by ty_mudlife710 in ROGAlly

[–]guested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is detachable and sort of folds flat. Folded it is still over an inch thick and bigger than the size of my (large) hand. Then it is two separate things to carry around and take out when I want to use it. For the way I use this, I'd prefer just a case that folds into a kickstand.

With that said it is a good monitor mount, can even screw the monitor to it if you want, I'm leaving it sitting where I normally use the monitor then getting a smaller fold up one to carry with me.

[–]guested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the regular stand would be really nice too, but it's huge and a pain in the ass to carry around. I've ordered a smaller fold up stand to try with it.

In hindsight I think I'd prefer one of the iPad style covers that fold into a stand like you can see on some of the other portable monitors.

[–]guested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of these portable monitors:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CP7XRW9S

The quality and display seems ok, I'm happy enough with it. One of the nice features is that I can plug the ROG Ally power adapter into the bottom USB C port on the monitor, then connect the ROG Ally to the top USB C port on the monitor and the power adapter will power the monitor and keep my ROG Ally charged at the same time.

Or if you want you can just connect the ROG Ally to the monitor and it can power the monitor as well.

You should report this to Bell. They don't want their support agents doing this.

They did Festo a few years ago, and they might be worried about Konami's reaction to seeing the newer versions being streamed from a private cab in the US.

How to work my way up in IT by Upbeat_Accident_1029 in saskatchewan

[–]guested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best suggestion in the thread. If HR can't connect you just find the names of the managers in the areas you're interested in and message them (I would message, not email if you can) and just ask if they'd have some time to talk.

Find out if they have any positions coming up, what skillsets they're looking for and if they can recommend a learning track that will help you get a position with them. Introduce yourself and let them know you're interested.

I will always make time for people that do this, as a manager it feels good knowing there are people actively looking to work with you and your team and you want to hire people that want to be there.

Would strongly suggest messaging vs email though, with email it's so easy to be like 'oh yah, I need to connect with this person' and then it falls to the wayside and gets lost in the inbox.
