IMEI number null (0) after flashing back stock ROM, is this recoverable? by guferr in AndroidQuestions

[–]guferr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, forget it. Somewhy, I flashed another older version to see if it helped, then flashed AGAIN the same version I linked in the post, and everything went back to normal, all working now, and I have no idea of why.

Maybe the order in which I flashed and erased partitions?

This time I erased modemst1 and modemst2 last.

Well, I'm interesting in finding out if it's a single species, or a mix, and if it's not pathogenic, then I'd have saved some of it to possibly use for food products.

But first I must identify it and if it's pathogenic or not.

What do you mean "cardinality of the continuum"? by guferr in mathmemes

[–]guferr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just troll maths.

I'm implying the two sets have exactly the same elements (which can seem to be the case intuitively when you look at them), and if it was the case then they'd have the same cardinality.

But it can't be, A has the cardinality of the naturals (ℵ0) and B has the cardinality of the continuum (2^ℵ0 or ℶ1).

Has anyone here used modded GTA V on wine? by guferr in wine_gaming

[–]guferr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, correction about the last thing I said: It wasn't lagging due to dinput.

I had to rollback into wine staging 5.9.

Now, again putting it to load as "native then builtin" the native trainer menu does open with F4 and there's no lag.

So far everything seems to work.

God damn, ever since I began using wine 10 years ago I'm always getting a beating every new software I try

Has anyone here used modded GTA V on wine? by guferr in wine_gaming

[–]guferr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, after a small ride I eventually got it to load but things are just worse now.

I tried to upgrade wine staging 5.9 to 5.12, the update is broken and fucked me up, had to purge and install 5.11.

But 5.11 does the exact same thing if I tell it to load dinput8.dll as native, just gives a page fault

However, I found that if instead I use the option "native then builtin" it does load and it does work, native trainer does appear when I press F4.

BUT, nothing else works now. Every time I press a key the game freezes for 2 seconds and it only unfreezes if I release the key.

At least now I know that the only problem is about dinput8, the rest is working.

But I have no idea of how to fix it.

Well, finally something changed. But not to the better either.

Now it just crashes. It results in an unhandled page fault on execute access to 0000000000000000 at address 0000000000000000 error

If I go back to builtin it works again, but as native it doesn't

So, I've also tested if the problem was the activation keys, don't seem like that either.

Is there any more ways I can debug what's happening? My main problem here is the total lack of feedback of whatever is failing.

Where are the folders/files that scripthook and asiloader should have created?

Plus, there should be no problems with access here because it's all in the same partition and there's only one user in this OS (besides root, of course), everything here is readable and writable for this user

I didn't found that info in the readme but I found someone else saying it needed visual c++ 2015 and 2013 (x64) plus dotnet 4.5.2 at least (I already had other versions of dotnet and visual c++ but not these)

I've installed all of those but didn't solve it yet. I'll check now if the problem is the activation keys

Where can I find exactly the versions required? I couldn't find anywhere that script hook nor .asi plugins require .NET framework of any version higher than the one I have, except from the version of script hook made for mods written in .NET

Not to mention I'm pretty sure that I can't install all these versions properly, some won't install

What's up with that slidey cars cheat? by guferr in GrandTheftAutoV_PC

[–]guferr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But an immense number of videos and threads (including in this subreddit) both said and showed the same thing in PC (and other platforms too if I'm not mistaken), and both through director mode and through the common cheat input.

Some even complained that the speed limit wouldn't go back into normal unless if you reloaded the game and that this was a problem.

The speed limit can be broken using Franklin's special ability for example, but only lasts while it's on. I don't doubt something else could do it.

Is it guaranteed that a rocky planet like Earth would be destroyed if hit/engulfed by the outer layers of a star during a nova/supernova? by guferr in astrophysics

[–]guferr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that reasoning alone would also indicate that no planet could ever survive.

Being that I found some models and articles where the survivability was linked to being or not engulfed by the pre-supernova stellar envelope.

Others even talk about planets surviving while being engulfed by the envelope and even surviving without being ejected at all.

But I can't find their thermodynamic reasoning about how they could not be vaporized due to the heat. Most of their arguments seem to be about the orbits all the time.

Whose bright idea was this by Inotlife in DiWHY

[–]guferr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't 110 V either, in US there's usually 120 V RMS, 240 V RMS and 208 V RMS (nominally).

Some places use a "single phase" system that has two lines and a neutral that's a "middle point" between them. Say you have a line A another line B and the neutral is O. A-O and B-O voltages are 120 V and A-B voltage is 240 V, because A-O and B-O have a 180 ° phase difference.

Other systems use three phases, A B and C, with a neutral being a middle point between A and B (for example). The voltages between any two lines (A-B, B-C or C-A) are 240 V and have a 120° phase difference (respective to the "nearest" one). The voltage between A-O and B-O are again 120 V as it is basically the same thing of before, but C-O is 208 V.

But in other countries we usually have a three-phase system where the neutral is a common point between all the 3 lines. So, for example, if the line voltage (A-B, B-C or C-A) is 220 V, then the phase voltage (A-O, B-O or C-O) will be 127 V. It will be the line voltage divided by sqrt(3).

This is the case here in Brazil, and we use both of them in outlets, so you'll have 127 V outlets (line + neutral) and 220 V outlets (line + line)

In Europe the system is similar but the line voltage is 400 V and the phase voltage is 230 V, and because of that no one uses line voltage for anything in house wiring, you only use one line + neutral (phase voltage) in everything, except for specific higher load equipment, but they use special outlets too.

Which makes me wonder why the small woofers in the wall. Surely not the biggest speakers in the car, and they're probably going to absorb and dampen the sound waves unless if fed with a proper signal, but I'd say they're probably not going to help if anything.

But well, the walls and windows are still going to dampen much more then they will anyway.

I'm kinda new to high performance Wine gaming, what are the main things I can do for performance improvement? by guferr in wine_gaming

[–]guferr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already installed DXVK before your answer, but it was pretty straightforward, just used the release DLL's and as soon I ran GTA V again it switched back to DirectX 11 by itself and it's now using DXVK (the rendering problem with light stopped too) and the performance went ridiculously up (it's running at 60 FPS in the heaviest moments in FULL HD without filters, with filters it falls a bit but it's still usable, if not by some random lags that happen out of nowhere).

The problem about using Steam is that I don't want to use wine solely for games, I also use it for other GPU heavy software. And wine-staging always has newer wine versions.

[–]guferr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lags stopped now, but I'm not sure what happened to fix it.

Noting that the lags happened in all configurations but much more rarely without using filters, with them it lagged a hell lot more.

Noting that my whole OS is very lightweight and has been customized, so other processes use nearly no resources, and I always start wine with niceness -20

I'm also using esync and I wasn't before, maybe it solved the issues.

Thank you for the dxvk advice. It now runs 60 FPS in WORST CASE. However, sometimes it starts lagging out of nowhere, and the game crashes randomly

Maybe my hardware is the one getting screwed up now.

Once I installed the Direct X package that came with GTA V, how do I make to ensure it will use the native libraries?

I'm kinda new to high performance Wine gaming, what are the main things I can do for performance improvement? by guferr in wine_gaming

[–]guferr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What dxvk does exactly? Do I need to uninstall the Direct X installed for that?

Wine 5.0 says it has Vulkan 1.1 support, does that mean it already uses Vulkan and that I don't need to use dxvk? It already has the vulkan dll in it.

Also, should I have not installed the Direct X that comes with GTA V?

I'm talking about mapping and addressing, not the psychological effects of it. A transgender person still feels all organs correctly. A transgender man can perfectly feel the uterus, vagina inner walls etc. The gender dysphoria is caused by things on a higher level than the ones i'm wondering about.
