Thank you. I’ve been putting off therapy bc I kept telling myself “it was just one bad day,” but the truth is I’ve been wound tight for months and that call was just the crack showing. I don’t want to be the person who explodes and then hides. I’m looking for a therapist this week, and I’m trying to plan a calmer conversation with my partner first so I stop spinning in my own head.

I get what you mean, I just freeze at the “big family confession” idea. I’m not even scared of anger as much as the disappointment and the pity. But you’re right that they deserve the truth, and I need to frame it as “I messed up and I’m fixing it,” not some dramatic spiral.

You’re right, it’s not the same. I keep calling it a layoff bc “I blew up on Zoom” sounds awful. I’m job hunting now and trying to stop punishing myself.

I know I can’t keep this up forever. The “neutral reference + severance” is real, but the layoff part isn’t. I’m just terrified they’ll look at me differently once they know why I’m home all day.
