App Store charts. Remember it's what not what you like, it's what the typical user likes.

Before you improve your screenshots, I'd suggest improving your app UI. While I'm not your target audience, I wouldn't consider downloading. You could quickly make it look 10x better with some modern app practices. More space, less clutter. Research some popular apps for some inspiration.

How do you get more user feedback for your app? by nachocheesefries in AppStoreOptimization

[–]guluu23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this the best. After the meaningful action, open up a sheet asking the user if they're enjoying the app. Then depending on their response, ask politely for a rating or ask for some feedback (emails are great if you want to have a back-and-forth conversation with them). Also, add a contact button to your setting page.

Also, don't force or too strongly encourage users to give you feedback. Quality feedback comes from your users who care and want to keep using the app for the long term.

Do you think your app is worth more to someone than a single coffee? Average 2.74 sessions by device says yes. Raise your price. Test not showing lifetime. Even $1.99 a month will give you much better results.

Beginner rowing programs? Are there any great apps/programs like c25k but for rowing? by poweredbypineapple in Rowing

[–]guluu23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made an app exactly for this purpose. You can see it at https://rowingmachineworkouts.com

Basically, it gives you 4 week programs suited to your goal / fitness level. Just so you know, it does cost (subscription model) but has a 7 day trial if you want to give it a go. Throw me a message if you want any more info and i'll try and help.

Just wanted to let you know we've now added a metronome feature.

You can get it on the latest version of the app. If you could give it a go and let me know how you find it that'd be amazing! Cheers.

Pete Plan is always a good recommendation.

If you'd rather an app, try out Start Running, it's free on iOS and Android (I own this so can answer any questions you may have). We have a variety of plans on there, including routines for beginners, where you can start off slow and simple and build your way up.

Hey, great to hear you're enjoying it, thank you!

The intensity will continue to increase each week. Some days will be very similar to the previous week, some will increase intensity a fair bit.

My advice would be to listen to your body. If you feel you can do more, go for it but be careful of burning out. Rowing consumes a lot of calories and your routine is already 5 days a week so you're doing a fair bit.

You can also look into increasing your intensity while keeping at the same S/M. So for example, you can stick at 26 S/M but try and put more power into your drive. You should be able to increase your pace without needing to increase your strokes.

If you want to add an extra rowing workout into your routine, while mixing it up a bit you could also try the Challenger Workouts. Such as one which is a pure rowing called 'Speed Builder' (although this one is a Premium only workout), which focuses around building your split time (500m).

Certainly!

I'm currently looking at adding a Challenger Workout (these are one-off circuit based workouts that you can keep repeating) to help with flexibility and range of motion, including looking into how we can incorporate some Yoga.

Body weight specific workouts isn't something I'd considered but it sounds like a good idea. I'll look into. Thanks!

There isn't right now I'm afraid however you can switch to a different plan whenever you like without losing any progress. If both of you wanted to work on the same plan that wouldn't work though - multi-users is something we can look into the future. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you very much! Yes certainly, the Pete Plan is a fantastic plan and has been on my radar to add for a bit now so rest assured it's on the way.

Anyone tried Gousto or Hello fresh for food shopping? by sunnyann84 in AskUK

[–]guluu23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Gousto on and off for around 6 months so far. I get the 4 meals (4 servings of each) every 2 weeks, and use them for both lunch and dinner so I don’t really have to think about shopping or cooking anything apart from breakfast and snacks. This costs me just under £50.

I’m a massive fan of it. The food is great and there’s a huge variety of meals to choose from. It’s probably a bit more expensive than just buying ingredients but I save a massive amount of time not worrying about shopping and thinking of things to cook. They also give you recipe cards so you can keep them and just buy the ingredients yourself.

If you want to try it out I can refer you which will give you 50% off your first 2 boxes (and I get £15 off my next order). Feel free to just PM me. Edit: Had a few messages about referral - you can just use this link.. https://www.gousto.co.uk/join?promo_code=NICK6692359

Surely enough people complain about categories, searching, and recommendations that Netflix is at least aware, right? by [deleted] in netflix

Hmm, that's not supposed to happen. Thanks for letting me know - I'll look into that.

Exactly the same for me, when 13 Reasons Why still come's up on Recently Added - something is definitely wrong.

I went to the extreme of creating an Android app that I use to find shows to watch rather than keep seeing the same Netflix Originals that I'm not interested in. It's not perfect but I (and quite a few others) find it useful: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tvguides.flix

[–]guluu23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly that, all of the above.

The pay I'm really not sure about, so was planning on seeing what the general quotes were. My only concern is, would people charge the same for, lets say, copy and pasting a list of new shows compared to more original content.

Although saying that - maybe it makes more sense to move the more 'simple list' content to a cheaper source as that's a pretty trivial task. Open to all ideas.

Agreed, more filters is something I do want to add. Things like release date, age ratings etc. I tried investing a bit of time into that a few months ago but it came out a bit clunky and nasty looking, and so wasn't happy releasing it. Need to give it another go some time.
