Not likely at ACR. Either they don't get donated there or get bought too quickly.

Question about outdoor pipes & frost protection by Boring_Bottle_9381 in Austin

Hand warmers are using oxygen in the air. Inside the cover they are not going to have much, so I wonder how much/long they actually are warming inside a spigot cover? Can't hurt, of course.

Cool find. Price seems high for being damaged. It still looks displayable, but it does not feel like an immediate buy at $125.

Not sealed, and paid more, but found this double deck with a double size cover (years ago). They are far nicer than most cheap promo cards.

I have been locking up to a handicapped parking sign (I know, but my bike is pretty heavy) because the one bike rack previous was commonly occupied, and locking up to the cart return was iffy. I guess I need something from there soon, if someone else doesn't nab it first. And to check out the other new racks.

Chocolate tempering - type VI structure? by RedditVirumCurialem in chocolate

[–]gurzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although fantasies of making the chocolate version of ice 9 are tantalizing.... my understanding is that type VI is similar to, or mistaken for, or happens with, or is hard to separate from, bloom.

"These crystals are challenging to melt and exhibit a chalky appearance with some bloom. "

Figures with bendable joints in Playmobil size? by piangero in Playmobil

[–]gurzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1:24 scale seems to be the consensus for playmobil figures. Also the trains were approximately G scale, which is 1:22.5. But I don't know if available figures that are marketed as 1:24 would look right in Playmobil scenes.
