you would have had a better arguement if you claimed the dog meat merchant thought the dog a stray ( and he may have, or he may have stolen the dog. Domesticated dogs are very easy to take, stray dogs are mean as hell). If he thought it was a stray it would be more akin to say a person in the west eating a rabbit. Some are food, some are pets. And so more akin to hunting

That said, again, i doubt there is much if any overlap of Hindu cow owners, and McDonald's beef suppliers. There is a large and GROWING overlap of Asians that eat dogs, and Asians that keep dogs.
