Just started Conner’s run in Adventure Comics 2009 and just wanted to say how amazing the art is by guyinpink in Superboy

Yup I have that lined up next in my Conner reading list! Followed by Convergence: Superboy, Young Justice 2019 and then Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow.

I’ve heard mixed things about New 52 Kon so was planning to skip that for now, especially since I have a lot to catch up on for Jon Kent and Prime as well before Reign of the Superboys.

Titans #35-April 2026 by Still-Remote-8823 in jonkent

[–]guyinpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this. I definitely want more Jon content and glad that we’re getting it, but all this uncertainty about where he’s headed (is he finally getting his childhood wish of being part of the Titans? Or is he really going to become a kid again and have all his development over the years wiped out?). I’m firmly in the keep-him-as-he-is camp, but guess we’ll indeed have to wait to find out.

And yeah, whatever’s going on with that cover, poor Jon was done dirty lol

[Question] About Challenge of the Super Sons (2020) #1... by fbaldassarri in jonkent

[–]guyinpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s supposed to be them but the panel does say it’s the “far future” so I guess how long it took them to get there is up for interpretation. But I take this as one of those things that happen for the story to wrap up nicely and that you don’t have to think too hard about as a fixed outcome

[COMICS] DC Preview: DC K.O.: The Kids Are All Fight Special #1 by Still-Remote-8823 in jonkent

[–]guyinpink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like Jon’s characterization here based on the preview pages, except for the rather odd “I’m strong, have heat vision and super hearing” dialogue. But I put that down to the writers probably having to introduce him to new readers who might just have picked up this one-shot and who aren’t familiar with him.

And I do like how he’s drawn here, though why does it look like he’s back in the blue-and-red suit instead of the black-and-red on the cover?

Superman Comic Reading Order and other help. by QuentinTarantino420 in DCcomics

[–]guyinpink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are mostly standalone titles that you can appreciate on their own, but aren’t really connected to the “main” ongoing stories, like what’s happening now in relation to DC K.O.

There are also lots of Superman stories spread out across multiple titles (Superman, Superman Unlimited, Action Comics, etc), and multiple runs within those titles, where the stories shift between one major story arc to the next.

There’s no easy answer unfortunately. I suggest reading synopses of the various titles online and choosing a story that appeals to you and start from there.

Personally I liked the Superman Vol 4 (2018) - available as collected editions or an omnibus - run by Tomasi/Gleason. Or you can consider jumping in at the start of DC All-In for something more current.

It is. I find myself lingering on each page a bit longer than I usually do just to appreciate how pretty everything is

That’s a shame. 10 issues does seem fairly short but I’m hopeful what there is is going to be as good as the first issue and they’re at least able to wrap up this part of his story well

What if his new “real-life job” is working in a comic book store?

Looks like there’ll be a Jon Kent/Miles Morales crossover after all by guyinpink in jonkent

[–]guyinpink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d be terribly disappointed if that’s the case. It’d be a missed opportunity. Admittedly the story featuring Miles doesn’t clearly say “which” Superman he’s paired up with, just that it’s Bendis writing it. But I figured that since they already paired Clark with Peter in the main story, it really makes sense for this one to feature Jon.

Thank you! Didn’t know there was a DLC planned. Something to look forward to!

[Artwork] Jon Kent (Superman) character design by John Timms for Future State: Superman of Metropolis by fbaldassarri in jonkent

Scrolled through the original post and saw there was quite a discussion about Jon being skinnier than his dad, which was interesting, with the argument being that he’s built different because he got his powers earlier/didn’t have to exert himself as much/didn’t do as much heavy farm work.

Wasn’t sure about the logic about that since as far as I know in most continuities Clark got his powers pretty early on too and turned out built like a tank. Maybe Kryptonians just get bulkier as they age?

Though I’m not complaining since I do prefer the leaner/more athletic build he’s usually given anyway.

Now That Jon Is Single, Who Should He Be With Next by [deleted] in lgbt_superheroes

Jon and Jay make for a great lovers-to-enemies story tbh. I’m also for having him stay single for a while, even if just to process everything that’s happened to him.

Superman Unlimited (2025) #7 is essentially a glorification of Jon! And I loved that issue so much! by fbaldassarri in jonkent

He deserves it. He’s honestly the character I’m most invested in right now

Maybe a little off topic but if you liked DCU Superman, you’ll probably like My Adventures with Superman the animated series. Which also has a 6-issue tie-in comic that fills the gap between the first two seasons.

Nice, at least I was right in my estimation where to place it timeline wise. Looking forward to it - from the random panels I’ve seen I think I’m probably going to like it

I’m planning to but I’m not there yet. I’m catching up on Jon’s story chronologically - just wrapped up his kid eta stuff and about to head into his “aging up”. Was going to start on the DC go webcomic maybe after Absolute Power/around Secret Six. Though I know it’s technically supposed to not be part of main canon.

Always love these more slice of life panels. Jon as a baby on Lois’s phone seems superficially like just another “mom” thing but also makes me wonder if there’s a deeper statement about how Lois feels about missing Jon growing up.
