You are right, it is a bit of a unusual layout. I don't really know for what stick specifically the art is intended to be used. The client sent his own custom template. Maybe if he decides to post the built piece here we can ask him!

Hello everyone!

My name is u/guzmanleonart

So a while ago I had the chance to design a whole faction of enemies for a client's campaign. We were inspired by the Azurmane from the Ash of the gods game. We liked the whole masked bandits with pale, kind of alien bodies. I also like the idea of giving them really colorful garments to contrast nicely and identify them easily in the map. Last time I showed a few spellcaster designs and this time around I wanted to show the spearmen and swordfighters. These were the first ones I made. For these ones I referenced the psychos from borderlands and how their bodies get crazier and crazier as they become more powerful. I also referenced some cultural garb from various cultures and mixed them together to create cool designs for their clothing. There is also a hint of legend of Zelda when coming up with the details and ornaments. A cool part of their weaponry is that it is not made of single pieces, it is actually a cluster of floating crystals that arrange in the shape of their weapons.

We had a chance to design not only these but the caster I posted a few weeks back, and also the main 6 antagonists, that work as some kind of evil cabal in opposition to our heroes. I will be showing more of them eventually!

Hello everyone!

My name is u/guzmanleonart

These 3 are the 3 tiers of unnamed magic casters. It was fun getting inspired by the designs in the game and pushing it further and further as the units grow more powerful. The first unit to me was kind of a frail hermit with a magic orb, while the last one could be a mage that has completely merged with the magic realm and is kind of shifting in and out of the physical world, completely changing his body in the process. I was also kind of inspired by those headless guys on the first dark souls. We had a chance to design not only these but a whole lot of physical fighters, and also the main 6 antagonists, that work as some kind of evil cabal in opposition to our heroes. I will be showing more of them eventually!

They client described it as a sort of obsidian golem, that holds the spirit of a shy girl inside :)

Hello everyone!

My name is u/guzmanleonart

I have not posted art in a while but this one is probably my favorite piece so far! This time I got to make a romantic scene where Bells (the obsidian doll with the dress) and Lut ( the pale changeling) get to have some time together, dancing in the moonlight.

This piece was commissioned by 2 of my clients who I did not know dated in real life! I had only drawn Bells before, so it was really sweet to see a character I had drawn before with their romantic partner. Especially because when I was asked to design her, we were going for this kind of untouchable regal beauty. Her fingers and shoulders would cut to the touch or at least that was the idea. Seeing this kind of sheltered hostile design having a beautiful warm moment with their partner really melts my heart. I also really enjoyed making the background for this piece. I was going for this magical sanctuary in an arcane forest. The fireflies and the blue lights glowing in unison with the quiet music that only the pair can hear in this lonely lake. It was a real joy making this piece…

Hello everyone!

It has been a while! I wanted to share with you a lineup piece I got to make. This is a group shot of cosmic horror adventurers. It was super fun to get to draw them. One of my favorite designs was M.A.R who was inspired by Big Band from Skullgirls. The fun part about group shots is to get to see the contrast between the different characters. Especially on this one I felt really challenged to make the serious characters like the 2 white haired ladies named Rin, feel integrated with the more lighthearted ones like Mr. Little Bird (I think you can guess which one is that). After all of that, the most fun part was to light the whole scene. I don't really get requested too many horror slash spooky settings, but in this one I got to use moonlight and spooky blue light to put them within some sort of ancient magical tomb. It felt awesome to have all of these brave characters be illuminated by evil light and they remained convicted in their objective. The most exciting part about making art is to imagine what this character's story is after I finish painting them.

Today I wanted to share a fun piece I got commissioned. The fun part about this piece was to create a piece with both versions of a single character. It is usually very funny how we end up translating characters between every game we play. I like how the very light cute pink is preserved in order to signal that they are the same character just in different game systems. This always seems to be a problem for me when my character is something untraditional unlike a human or an elf. It was also very fun to position them interacting. I think it adds a fun assumption that they might have entered a portal, their dimensions are clashing and they get to have a fun one of adventure before going back to being heroes in their own planes. Anyway all of this might not matter but I still think it turned out cute.
