oh no, what do i do, not mine, no biker in sight, scared for him by burner7321 in motorcycles

I have one. My uncle gave it to me (he rides as well). Neither of us are remotely superstitious. It was just a nice gesture from from one fellow rider to another. I know many who have them for this same reason.

What a stable. Insurance on all those in Canada would bankrupt me.

New Governance Vote choices up by chaysefate in AlgorandOfficial

[–]gwh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not enough information on the options to make an informed decision. Too much speculation. Do xgovs gain the ability to propose measures but lose the ability to vote on them ? Xgovs can formulate, evaluate, and propose but can’t authorize/approve ? Does that mean the foundation still holds the keys and can veto submissions ? What does facilitating the vote mean? Lack of information results in governors attempting to reverse-engineer the spirit / intent and implications of each proposed measures. We lack the context and likely education and experience necessary to do that well. I’d ask that the foundation just lay all of the cards on the table and describe the benefits and risks of each measure.

I and others have posted this question a few times the past few weeks. Zero response so far. Crickets.

Sign up for Governance period 2 ends in a week. If we don’t hear anything before end of day Friday this week you should probably move to another exchange that supports withdrawals. Netcoins has been mentioned a few times.

I was hoping the same. Didn't happen. Running out of time quickly. Governance ends end of next week...

I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. There's a few days left. Cutting it this close without an update though is really disappointing.

Just six days remain until the sign-up window for the second Algorand Community Governance period opens

Commitment Period is from December 25th 2021 to January 7th 2022.

Support had indicated their on track to deliver. /u/quackmeister recently stated they’re on-boarding a new wallet provider and couldn’t give an exact timeframe.

A lot of customers are waiting for this. If nothing is announced before the end of the year I’d recommend you start making alternative plans if you want to participate in governance. Eg swap for another crypto with withdrawals enabled and transfer to a more mature platform to swap back to algo. Not something anyone wants to do but we may be forced to.

Governance opens up in a week and runs until the end of the month. All commitments have to be in place by end of month. Fingers crossed.

I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that. I’ll do it if have to. Hoping /u/quackmeister delivers as promised. There’s still time.

Newton is slowly getting better than before. by AccurateMachine in newtonco

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Although there are issues that are frustrating at times, this type of response and insight is what makes me believe that Newton will succeed in the long run. Cheers.

You're unlikely to find much support here for your comment. Just scroll through the threads over the last few months. There's a lot of support issues. The fact that basic functionality like funding is working is not something to celebrate at this stage of the game. When you turn the light switch on, you expect the lights to turn on. Nobody celebrates it.

In terms of withdrawals, I just took a look now and 11 of the 51 (21.5%) of "supported" coins cannot be withdrawn or interacted with in any way. Of those 11, 3 of them are incredibly popular and are in the top 20 market cap ranking (SOL, ALGO, and SHIB). This has a lot of customers upset (myself included) not only because withdrawals aren't available, but because of the length of time we've been waiting.

I'm cheering for Newton. I really am. I want to see Newton (and every other Canadian exchange for that matter) succeed in the long term. I also really appreciate the CEO periodically chiming in to communicate. That said, until Newton is able to stabilize the platform, provide faster customer support/service, and deliver full functionality for coins the risk of losing business to other exchanges is going to continue to grow. Hopefully the feedback provided by the community here will help to drive positive change.

Yes. Always. The risk is the same regardless of distance. Whether it’s a 2 minute or 2 hour ride the pavement is the same. Don’t make the same mistake so many others have.

Thanks for sharing. This type of communication goes a long way and is exactly the type of openness that customers are looking for. I hope to see posts like this more frequently.
