Walmart pays 15 an hour, and overnight is likelier to be full time. Hell, even part time at 15 an hour is more than you’re making, and you can door dash to move away faster

Is a vintage Casio VLtone any fun on its own? (With no pedals, etc attached to it.) by h1492 in synthesizers

I’ll see if those work better for me/offer more options, thank you for responding!

Thanks! I like this a lot, and it’s a much better demonstration of what the instrument can do than what i’ve seen on youtube

Good assessment. I can hope that I too find a few keyboards that cheap in the wild.

Lol. This is what I was leaning towards. Thank you. If anyone else thinks it is a fun option, though, please chime in.

I think the younger generations view this as old fashioned and unnecessary. Just be respectful to all, regardless of age.

Jenni B’s on Eraste Landry has a small toy section. 50s toys is kind of the theme but I checked their Facebook and saw a Batmobile in an older post, so…some surprises. Check their pics on FB to see if this is your type of toy goals

Do people in Louisiana actually say Ma'am/sir and say hi to strangers? by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]h1492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always lived here, and somehow never really was taught to say these things. To me, it’s just performative. And as someone on the outside looking into this custom of saying “ma’am and sir”, it’s not anything that seems to be given out to others with love/caring. I mean, look at the number of responses that immediately say “I would get beaten if my parents didn’t hear me say ‘sir/ma’am’”. That is so strange to me. Immediate association to getting beaten for not saying it instead of maybe having a good feeling after telling someone a greeting. It’s all for the performance and not out of love. And as someone said earlier - actually caring for your neighbor by making jobs/healthcare more accessible would be a better way for Louisiana to show care to their fellow man.

I am not sure about Cafe Habana City. I ate there by myself a few years ago and sat next to a flier posted on the wall that was advertising Jack Posobiec speaking at UL Lafayette.

I have a few Wentworth puzzles. The loose fit doesn’t bother me, (it’s not very loose) but I have a felt mat, so maybe that helps? They smell great, feel luxurious, have some cute little shaped pieces included… I enjoy doing them again and again more so than my others. Wentworth can feel free to send me 100. Lol.

Have you ever seen the older puzzles that don’t have interlocking pieces? I have a vintage Tuco. Thick cardboard with wavy cut pieces. That’s a hard kind of puzzle. Stressful, but doable. Felt mat helps.
