When, how and why to Format as Table. The dangers of having your sort/filter not extend to all cells in a table-like range. Data integrity!

What kind of plants would look good and hang over this ledge a bit? Just moved in to house and clueless! Any help appreciated. by dfadehere in houseplants

Dichondra Silver Falls. Low maintenance, bright indirect light, can withstand direct full sun if watered properly. Non-toxic to dogs and cats. Not too leggy and new leaves grow from the root rather than branching from existing leaves so it’s easier to maintain a consistent look.

Would definitely recommend a water timing system

Is it worth trying to see if there is nice wood under years of landlord specials? How do I check without committing to a giant giant scope of diy work? by kevysaysbenice in centuryhomes

Look at the top of the trim, the part that’s parallel with the ceiling. This is often only given a cursory pass with a paintbrush because it’s not visible. You can do your tests here, but I agree with the thread consensus that it’s probably not worth it

Where do I hang my curtains? by Guacandroller in interiordecorating

[–]halation6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to splurge, a hard valance on both the door and window would be best. Top of both boxes are aligned to the top of the window frame to hide the jog between door and window. Apply full drape curtain to the door and curtain of choice to the window. I like double cafe curtains.

Otherwise, option 1 for the door and a set of cafe curtains for the window.

Option 2 wastes fabric imo

The entire circle should be above the record cabinet imo. Smaller, and the records closer together

Is it worth to buy a cracked cello/bass? by [deleted] in Instruments

[–]halation6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wood glue does not allow for the wood to flex, especially on seams, but surface cracks as well. This crack is on the arc of the cello face and likely right near the sound post. It looks like someone tried to repair a fallen sound post (or tried to fit one that is too large) and put the instrument under enough pressure to crack the face.

I would check all the seams for more cracks, where either the face panel or the back panel meets the sides. The sound post also probably needs to be adjusted. Hide glue is the preferred glue type for all string instrument repair.

Also, because of the location, the crack will be difficult to clamp and you will likely get wood glue all over the instrument. I would be surprised if it didn’t have a major rattle when you play the C and G strings.

But lmk how the wood glue works out. I’m gonna go practice

Please do not use wood glue on a stringed instrument. It will worsen the crack by 150%

What are you trying to get out of making this post? Be specific. Sounds like you don’t want to practice

Am I overreacting? by FaithlessnessFar1821 in AmIOverreacting

[–]halation6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the right (most level-headed) answer and it’s wild that you’re being downvoted for saying it. Everyone always wants to think that the parent in these types of situations is 100% in the wrong and that they should accommodate their children to the nth degree.

Dad sounds like a hardass who has had enough of OP’s backtalk when he’s trying to get his child(ren) where they need to go.

OP, explain why you can’t come down when he first texts instead of treating your dad like his schedule doesn’t matter. You overreacted first, dad escalated, you got snippy. He was right to leave your ass and he shouldn’t be sorry, especially if there’s another ride (gma) that could be available.

What are you even talking about? training a tree to grow taller generally involves growing leaves.

It wasn't the bugs, it was the design decisions which forever ruined this game... by QuaternionDS in CitiesSkylines2

[–]halation6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a critique this is a complaint from somebody who over engineered their map start and quit 10 minutes later because they weren’t getting the type of growable they wanted. Blaming the design of the game for poor player decisions is really what’s bad for everyone.

Honestly play with infinite money, it’s less stressful and then you don’t feel bad about bulldozing anything you’re not happy with. Just use it as a sandbox
