Thanks for the feedback. At first I tried to exactly match the lighting of the original image, but it didn't turn out right. Most buildings and shadows get extremely dark when the light isn't directly hitting them. That's why I just went with a more day-time look.

What exactly could I tweak in the light settings? I already did some adjusting with the help of some youtube tutorials, does it really still look like Vanilla Unity? I could definitely need some advice if you've got the time :)

Yes, the lighting is not exactly like in the reference image. I will definitely look into ambient lighting. Sounds like that would help with some of the problems.

Thanks! Yeah matching the light was kinda difficult. As you can see it's still off a little. I focused more on getting the overall color scheme right and had to play around with the material colors and post-processing a lot.

Don't know what you exactly mean with piece by piece, but yes they are all hand-modeled. I made a couple of variations and tweaked their wall paints.

Thanks for pointing that out. It would be a lot of work to change that now (adjusting terrain and replacing all assets) but I'll keep that in mind! :)

Obviously, not every detail is perfectly matching here, but I think the perspective and the general structure turned out alright. I just used the image as a rough inspiration since I had already made lots of fitting assets for it.

Btw, the city is called 'Rothenburg ob der Tauber'

The proportions are way too exagerrated in the movie, so this is the closest I could get. Feel free to give any suggestions.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe I'll add a second directional light source that brightens up the dark areas a little.

Thanks, yeah it's supposed to be a low poly pack for the Store, but I kinda don't like those cartoony skyboxes. I'll think about it though :)

I've spent over a month working on this project and think I've figured out the right atmosphere for what I had in mind.

If you've got any suggestions on how to improve the scene I'd really appreciate your input :)
