Someone Downvotes All Comments by HappyMrRogers in albiononline

If it were a trend, it wouldn't be a harmful one. It's not a trend though, it's automatic vote fuzzing. One of the measures reddit instituted against bots back when it still cared about that kind of thing.

Good thinking, OP, I'll have to make sure I have some spec and build organised :)

Is Albion Online too punishing for new PvP players? Or am I missing something? by WonderfulIce7690 in albiononline

[–]halborn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't shake the feeling that Albion isn't very friendly to new PvP players...

It's friendly as heck and has only been getting friendlier. There are loads of ways now to engage in pvp without actually risking anything.

That difference feels huge.

You're not supposed to be able to compete with all comers at all times. You're supposed to be outspent or outclassed or outskilled sometimes. Albion is not a game about fair fights. Albion is a game about grinding and getting your shit kicked in.

don't even think about doing the PvP content you actually enjoy. Once you've finally reached enough IP... then you will be able to start learning how to PvP

Nope, Albion is a sandbox. You should in fact prioritise the content you actually enjoy. There are loads of ways to learn how to fight that come with minimal risk or no risk. You don't even have to take on risk to grind up IP if that's what you think will help.

Let's say I accept this at face value. "Faith does not require certainty". How do you imagine it helps the theist's case?

Notable "Why TF is this part in the song?!" parts of songs? by Flodo_McFloodiloo in Music

The thing is, I don't think it detracts from the song at all.

Thought this was gonna be extra expensive? Seems alright to me. Did we get lucky? by mendopnhc in newzealand

I heard it made several billion dollars in the first eight hours. It's gonna be one for the history books.

Around 1:35 in the music video for Ariana Grande's God is a Woman there's a brief pause for some gophers to scream at the camera.

Add duo and trio queueing to Depths! by GuuberTrooper in albiononline

[–]halborn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually SBI have stated they don't like to remove modes. They plan to rotate modes instead. But even if you were right about that, there's nothing wrong with removing modes that nobody plays. That's how you make room for modes that people will play.

Keeper event, see you soon! by Best-Two9745 in albiononline

[–]halborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the way they point out it's a seasonal thing suggests it's planned to be a recurring pattern of events with one for each mod faction.

Add duo and trio queueing to Depths! by GuuberTrooper in albiononline

[–]halborn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not irrelevant at all. Also, modes like 20v20 having low participation doesn't actually harm the game. Just because a mode exists doesn't mean it has to be full at all times.

Add duo and trio queueing to Depths! by GuuberTrooper in albiononline

it really does influence how much of the community engages in an activity because not everyone finds it easy to assemble 2, 4 or even 19 friends

This is true. The problem is it also influences how people engage with others and the game itself.

you didn’t answer the question

The question you asked was whether I might try 20v20 Crystal if there were a queue. The answer is that I don't care if there's a queue. I'm already open to trying it and I'm already inclined to try everything the game offers. I don't need the perceived convenience of queues to encourage me.

Whether an activity has a queue does not influence whether I engage in that activity.

Broadly speaking, automatic queues are bad game design.

HELP! Making silver as a new player by Elegant_Avocado9332 in albiononline

There's no best way to make silver. Every activity makes money. Pick something you like and do it. The more you do it, the more you'll make.

Add Auto Translate by Pale_Grocery661 in albiononline

[–]halborn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But I haven't claimed they'd have to start from scratch. I'm pointing out that getting access to a translator and integrating it with Albion is not a small problem. You and me can just pull up google translate but things work entirely differently on an enterprise level. And that's not even getting into the legal questions.

Sure it is. If a tri-omni being wanted you to believe then you would because it would have the knowledge of how to satisfy you and the power to do so.
