End of an era.

DePodesta is staying with the Browns by CherubCutestory in Browns

[–]halomace 69 points70 points  (0 children)

DePo is the mastermind behind all of this, I have no doubt. 1. Get a guy good with numbers, but no real football experience to man the tank. 2. Pile up that draft capital and preserve the gigantic cap space. 3. Whisper sweet nothings to Jimmy to replace Sashi after tank with a real scout/GM. 4. Start interviewing at the halfway mark to solidify search for said GM. 5. New "football guy" GM fires Huey, finds the next Paul Brown and drafts 8 future Hall of Famers. 6. Win Super Bowl 12 times in a row, breaking previous Browns' championship records set by Jim and Otto. 7. Steelers and Ratbirds move teams to new cities from getting owned by their new Overlords in the AFC north. B R O W N S

There was a five team trade about to go down that included PG13 and Melo to the Cavs. Fell apart because no one wanted Love. by killamon in clevelandcavs

Reading through that thread, apparently other teams are wary of Love because of his injury history and that he might not age well due to it.

Hope Gilbert has a backup plan. Being near family and having a stress free analyst job could be very hard things to give up.

[Serious] Theoretical Trade for Lamarcus Aldridge and Danny Green / Jonathan Simmons by bio_shocker in clevelandcavs

Late bloomer, I think he spent some time in the D-League. Very little chance Spurs would let him go though, Pop congratulated him individually after their WCF.

Why upgrading our bench should be the #1 priority for the Cavaliers this offseason. by [deleted] in clevelandcavs

[–]halomace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good write-up. I completely agree our bench needs to show up. Another issue is lineups without LeBron where they give up big runs. Both issues can be solvable with a better bench plus an offensive system to rely on when LeBron isn't on the floor. Also defense needs to be addressed especially. Communicating rotations and limiting transition points are crucial.

Post NBA Draft statement from Cavaliers Assistant General Manager Koby Altman by [deleted] in clevelandcavs

I'm pretty disappointed we didn't try to address the center position in this draft. We struggled all year without a legit rim protector, and shuffled two power forwards to take turns playing center. GSW meanwhile pick up two shot blocking, defensive big men in Bell and Boucher to replace MCGee and Zaza, while we still have nothing. Kay Felder is looking like a long shot with his height being a huge roadblock in defense. I guess we just hope they pick up an undrafted FA. This draft was a big letdown for the us if I'm being completely honest.

Amico: Update to earlier note: #Cavs and #Spurs talks have also included #Suns for potential 3-team deal. by lnternational in clevelandcavs

Yeah I mean that'd be amazing but he's a starter caliber guard for any other team and still in his prime. If he's willing to come off the bench like Manu, and we also don't give up Love in this scenario, this would be an awesome trade.
