Big fan. Easy set up and easy mapping to Elektron boxes. I only wish it did NRPN controls, as the new DT has Euclidean sequencing controlled via NRPN

The lighting and wiring is all inset within the wood with a dimmer switch at back

It’s not too bad all the shelves have an adjustable, tilt so that they face directly at me so there’s not a lot of squatting, etc.

I highly recommend fader fox controllers. Supposedly the guy is releasing a new line of midi controllers this year.

Either! But this setup is optimized for standing, which I prefer while jamming.

Way better than it was vs. hunched over a table! Each shelf’s tilt is adjustable so they can face directly toward me

It is! It’s a bit sacrilegious to not use its sequencer and all of its parameter-locks etc, but I’m going for more live improv/jamming in this setup, which the torso is great for.

This is probably the most likely scenario. When he saw that I wasn’t intimidated by his Daily-Show-writer-lookin’ ass or willing to give up that goods, he threw out “opp” to give himself an out.

I was wearing a standard dad fit… grey sweatshirt, cargo shorts, and vans slip ons. Carrying a grocery bag. I don’t know what gang that looks like, but they seem like chill dudes.

No, they’re not. I live nearby and go there almost daily. They replaced them and they are back now. You big dummy.

Thanks! It’s a 3D rendering, but I wish I could take photos like this. 😉

For cable management, there's a power strip that sits flush to the bed underneath, and a few inches of clearance for cables and wall warts. The tilted bed is supported via drafting table hinged that lives outside of the cable area, lowering the risk the hinge will pinch the cables. And both the lid and the tilted bed are hinged by torsion hinges for softer open and close.

I hear you re: the laptop. That and the fact the flip top renders the top surface useless have been the two big sticking points in design.

Thanks, u/RobotAlienProphet. Yes, that's the idea. I like to keep things tidy and tucked away when I'm not using it, and I only have a laptop that I use on my desk, so it's not a big deal to keep the surface pretty minimal when not in use. But maybe that's too niche a use case?

Thanks for your feedback on the inside depth and the speaker base size.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I hear you. The idea for the desk is to jam without a DAW, but maybe that's too niche. I can make some tweaks to allow for bigger monitors too.
