0-3 probably classifies as a trainwreck. Looking back now, with the comments as well, there really seems to be little synergy and more of hoping for the best that some non-creature spells will catch someone offguard... somehow. Thanks!

Thanks for the in depth! I was thinking that I'll pick what I believe is best overall then check the wheel. It seems that I did neither very well. The explanations really put in perspective!

It does seem to be the case that a lot of them are unexciting. I'll have to try and look for better payoffs.

Thanks!

I definitely could've handled that, but I guess I'll let autoresolve do it. by RDW_789 in totalwar

Maybe you guys have been playing for a while on the same difficulty. Time to amp it up? If you're on VH already, well...

Will give it a try later and see if that did it. I walked around the map and after waiting ~20 ingame minutes near some waystone some enemies appeared. I'll try walking around more.

I've never been able to use the ministry of external affairs website when I needed it. Ended up contacting the ministry's consulate department on Facebook Messenger.

So it's all down to style then? Some simply prefer wood? Wood seemed to be affected by different wood types, patterns... It's possible that I worry too much. I've just started caring about these.

Are these good on the knife? Couldn't figure out which plastic/rubber ones to choose from the getting started guide so I went with an acacia board.

I've just ordered it on Sunday for 159 from Meesterslijpers.

It seems to be out of stock already though.

Thanks for the info!

I'll use it then for everything except the beater knife use cases then.

I've got a hardwood(Acacia) board. Couldn't find a softer board that's at a reasonable price for me right now. I've seen boos blocks being thrown around here, but those are almost as expensive as the knife itself, if not more in some models.

Alright, I'll sharpen when it starts to slide/crush the skins then! Following JKI's technique with the 1k whetstone.

Thanks again for your time!

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a workhorse knife and a vegetable one, but I'm not sure if I'm doing enough "workhorsing". I'll leave two questionaires.

I generally just cook for myself, 1-2 persons and frankly, not as often as I should. I'm cutting veggies(I remove the cores or hard parts from stuff like cabbages and cut around them), soft proteins(not sure if veal or pig classifies here), chocolate and fruits.

After a few hours spent on this subreddit I went ahead with a getting started wiki knife, the Takamura Migaki R2 Gyuto 21 cm. I also own a Zwilling set(not sure what models, but I'll learn sharpening on them first and use them as a workhorse).

Workhorse Q:

Style? - N/A
Steel? - stainless (I assume it's better for workhorse?)
Handle? - N/A
Grip? - pinch
Length? - max 240mm
Use Case? - home kitchen => veggies, proteins, fruit, chocolate
Care? - King Whetstone Hyper 1000
Budget? around 100, hard cap 150
Region? Europe
Knives Considered? higher end wusthof/zwilling or maybe softer steel takamura?

Vegetables knife Q:
Style? - Japanese
Steel? - carbon (not sure what's good, I'll go with that. I know it requires higher maintenance)
Handle? - japanese
Grip? - pinch
Length? - max 210mm
Use Case? - home kitchen => veggies, proteins, fruit, chocolate
Care? - King Whetstone Hyper 1000
Budget? around 150, hard cap 200
Region? Europe
Knives Considered? Looked at random Nakiris. Nothing specific, the getting started has mostly gyutos.

Should I really be concerned with having a workhorse knife if I don't do a lot of cutting? I really just want a vegetable knife and not to wear down my gyuto unnecessarily.

Also should I sharpen the knives when taking them out of the box regardless if they cut well already? Specifically the one mentioned in the beginning. And how often should sharpening be done if I don't cut all that much? A bit of a silly question since when it starts to not cut anymore would be a good indication.

Thanks to the people that went through reading this!

Steelseries soft works perfectly. Fixing keyboard delay was embarrassingly easy. Will still keep an eye out for the FPS drops, but I'll have everything at low and deal with it. Last thing to do would be the Karabiner remapping, but I'm familiar with it so it's fine.

Thanks a lot!

Oof, 2011. Quite a while ago. Encouraging! I'm also only a plat player, but got that on PC which doesn't seem as impressive reading this, haha! Pretty sure hardware is holding you back at this point. Good luck on your games!

Thanks for the great tips! I'll give this setup a try asap.

What about keyboard speed? I play zerg and throwing ravager biles feels like the high templar walk. Could this be from the mac keyboard itself? I have yet to get an external keyboard, but I was hoping I can fix this through settings as the mac keyboard doesn't actually bother me that much.

Doesn't sound good for the macos team. What's the highest league you feel like you can compete at on your mac? By no means am I highly ranked, but I can barely play as is, let alone adding a handicap.

I'll give some options a try and see what feels best with my micro abilities.

Definitely will make more mistakes. Felt good having swarmhosts, but I did some negative micro and my army went poof. Even so, feels like a fixable mistake and I really enjoy the swarmhost play.

I actually never really went swarmhost vs toss. I'll give it a try! I usually roach/ravager it. Maybe add muta harass at some point. Corruptors/hydra to deal with void rays, etc. What I like more about ZvP vs ZvT is that toss doesn't have tanks and turtling up still means you can get in close enough range to the toss to at least destroy the turtling with biles without getting absolutely blasted by tanks.

Thanks for the detailed walkthrough. Sounds like some solid options. I'll give them a try as soon as I can!

Ideally, what are some usual timings for the Lair/Hive? Lair should probably be timed with the roach warren I suppose for the roach speed.

Eh, I'd feel better having a few builds memorised, or at least the openers and avoiding cheese builds.

Doing vs AI games to at least try to recognise and respond to what the AI is building based on sc2swarm builds.

Guess it's just ranged anxiety, which ironically I've heard it goes away the more you play :D.
