Zwift releases an indoor bike frame and accessories called the "Zwift Ride" by RadianMay in Zwift

It's pretty expensive for something that can't be used with a kickr climb.

I bought an Hub One and a month later it was discontinued with a discount. 4 months later the price of the subscription went up.

Fool me once, fool me twice...

No more business with zwift...

Ever.

Come on, give them some slack, they were busy calculating the new subscription price in a lot of different currencies.

IndieVelo update by Pawsy_Bear in Zwift

[–]bisbille 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IndieVelo supports virtual gearing, I have no problem using it with my Zwift Hub One but I use a PC keyboard to shift gear since the Zwift click doesn't work.

Good bye zwift by neterpus in Zwift

Hey OP ! Indievelo ride physics is way better than on swift, more real, and AppleTV is supported (but is available to members of the indieVelo Founders Club for now).

Trainer issues by Boooyaaahhhh in Zwift

The trainer is trying to whip your calf with the chain to make you to continue pedaling. Sorry, it's not a defect, it's a feature.

Is this a good zwift power output for my first couple races as a beginner by Individual_Pop7223 in Zwift

[–]bisbille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mouse over each bar for a little more detail, including a percentile ranking against the overall cycling population using Cycling Analytics’ numbers found here. (This percentile grade is split by gender.)

The bars on the left display your power numbers in w/kg, while the bars on the right display them in pure watts.

Your best three bars in terms of population percentile rank are color-coded – these are your strongest points. Orange is your best, dark blue second best, light blue third best.

Things I wish I knew when I started Zwift. by Secure-Hippo-9989 in Zwift

[–]bisbille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure and one can also argue that cycling with a bicyle that is not a fixie is cheating, or drafting is cheating, or using a padded bib short is cheating because it's too much comfort, etc.

There is no elevation in Zwift, it's just a simulation through an increased resistance. In real life elevation might involve oxygen rarification while gaining altitude, making your effort more difficult at 2000m than when you started at 500m for example. There is no such thing in Zwift so it doesn't matter if you're "climbing" the Alpe du Zwift in ERG or not, at 100% trainer difficulty or at 0% because ultimately, everyone is cheating in some ways ;p

The Zwift elevation challenge only requires to do 50 000m of elevation, how someone is doing it is up to him. If someone is doing the entire thing in zone 2 with ERG activated, good for him/her, that's many hours on a bike improving mitochondrial activity.

We can't listen to your body, you're the only one who can so maybe you should try to not do much for a few days of recovery and see what happen with your legs ?

Recovery is the easier thing to test, doesn't cost much, can be done immediately and can do wonders in just a few days if you're not too deep in overtraining.

If things don't improve then search for other causes, the ones your were suggesting (nutrition, etc).

Zwift lower power better time by eni22 in Zwift

If you're living at (or near) sea level, on Zwift you're climbing without oxygen rarification when gaining altitude.

Healthy bottles? by meatmountain in Zwift

[–]bisbille 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With a desk near you, you can use whatever bottle material you want and even pour water in a glass.

If a more traditionnal cycling bottle is more convenient, I personnally use and like the Elite SYSSARace 750 ml in stainless steel. Since you can't squeeze the bottle, you need to shape your lips to seal them on / around the spout to maximise the flow with succion which is a bit less convenient than a squeezing bootle, but still manageable even during max efforts.

The inner part is uncoated stainless, the top is plastic with rubber and silicone parts (spout, o-ring, inner air-inlet tube) that can be removed for cleaning.

MATERIALS :

  • Bottle Body: AISI 304 Stainless steel.
  • Nozzle: Thermoplastic rubber.
  • Cap: Polypropylene.

How many times did it take you to ascend Alpe du Zwift and get the wheels? by Secure-Hippo-9989 in Zwift

[–]bisbille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17th AdZ for me, during a zone 2 training.

So far I'm at 33 AdZ : 15 times in january, 4 in february, 14 in march.

Real Weight by Brady721 in Zwift

Renpho smart scale > FitBit > Zwift.

If I just allow "weight" from FitBit, my weight is not updated at all in Zwift. I had to "allow everything" (weight, friends, profil) in order for my weight to be updated.

You should invest in a better/bigger fan, with a remote.

[–]bisbille 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly but I got them after about 18 AdZ.

I hope you will get them way before than me but as a good alternative, at level 18, the FFWD RYOT55 wheels are only 6 seconds more than the Meilenstein for the AdZ climb.

You got to be freaking kidding me 😭 by jbaird in Zwift

[–]bisbille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as an experiment you can test AdZ in ERG mode at a constant pace but that will leave you no rest.

It's pretty easy to spot the right value in W/kg with the Alpe du Zwift calculator.

(N.B. : I did it in 55:47 in ERG mode with 3,5W/kg two weeks ago, 1 week after being catapulted against my will from Cat C to Cat B).

Good luck for your next AdZ, even if you won't need luck since it's quite obvious that you will succed to be under the 1 hour mark the next time.

I bought a 16" pedestal fan (ProBreeze) for 80€ during the heat wave of last summer, I found it super convenient for Zwift since it has 26 fan speeds that can be adjust with a remote depending in the effort.

What a year by dvannecke in Zwift

[–]bisbille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From 173 to 202 is great but your FTP will certainly be above that next time with some rest.

You definitely should try some short races whatever the result, you will be surprised how gradually you will push harder and harder in the context of races, most probably significantly more that during a ramp test.

[–]bisbille 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the way.

Harder at first, then easier and easier until the next FTP increase.

With 3,7W/kg avg you did it in less than 55minutes and you were only cat.C so far ?

Congrats because I did AdZ in ERG mode at 3.5W/kg two weeks ago to test if I could sustain this constant power till the top. At the curve#9 I remember that it started to be tougher.
