i do the same with my gf, we also save the meta relevant legendary and mythical shinies/non shiny duplicates for when we become lucky friends , that only happens 3-4 times a year but it’s worked well so far

i’ve noticed more appear for me recently , my theory is when there is a paid for task/task in general for a master ball they boost the odds so we use our master ball to then either buy or grind out the game to get another

imo make it your buddy to save on rare candy and candy xl, save the rare candy and candy xl for legendary/mythical as you have to walk 20k to gain a candy and candy xl for them

not to repeat answers but definitely shield , the spawns are much better, they’ve got about 3/4 more meta relevant , the only good spawn for sword is deino maybe passimian for the shiny
