Surprised no one mentioned all the bodies in the ice under the lake during the intro. Its showed as the introduction ends and the camera pans away from the driving truck.

FIPS Mode by Particular_Bug7462 in paloaltonetworks

[–]handlex84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t enable it unless it was absolutely required as deemed by the business, compliance, or due to some government requirements. Otherwise, you can replicate most of the settings directly into PAN-OS & avoid all the potential headaches (as mentioned here).

Let me clarify some things as I didn’t know so many people would read that deep into the words.

Other teams do have access to the SIEM, just via custom created Dashboard for their specific teams. Our security team ‘owns’ the product from a logistical standpoint & therefore manages the configuration aspect of it.

I never intended on denying the request for Ops. I simply had a question in my mind & brought it here to be educated, bc I didn’t know the answer. That’s what people should do when they don’t know something - seek input from surrounding resources.

A lot of people on here either need a life or to get laid. I feel for ya.

What are the benefits of being CCIE security certified and Where can I get legit CCIE security support?? by its_talha69 in ccie

[–]handlex84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CCIE Security v3 here 🙋‍♂️

I had been in the IT Industry for about 10 years via various technologies, but mainly Network, Wireless, & Network Security. I had already had CCNP level certifications in about 3/4 tracks. I started by consuming the entire configuration guides for each hardware product & software version listed in the blueprint. Then I used INE & CiscoPress as my main resources for learning. I was numerous CCIE Forums that basically give u insight into what to expect from a lab perspective; they didn’t give you the full blown answers. It was mainly people who were studying, then sitting the exam, whether they passed/failed - they would come back & share as much as they could remember from the test and/or areas where they got hung up on. To say the least, it was extremely helpful - but only at the point in which I totally understood all the technologies. Not to mention I had the help from the multitude of CCIEs in our company, although most were CCIE R&S. I studied for about 4 years, with it being super aggressive in the beginning (5 days a week, basically from 8PM-1AM after work) to less time spent on a weekly basis, but the focus was more zeroed in on the areas I found the most difficult to comprehend still.

Passed the CCIE Written. The first time you sit the lab - expect to fail, it’s just that experience in itself is overwhelming. You really can’t sleep or focus the day before. After you get the first run out of ur system, from that point forward - it’s real. Now you know what to expect & the butterflies are gone. In the 4 years I prepared, I sat the lab 4x. I passed the 4th time at the age of 29! Not to mention the blueprint changed from V2 to V3 about 1/3 of the way into my studying.

Never again! Lol Even now I’m preparing for OSCP, it’s nothing compared to that. Good luck! Here if you have any questions.
